Subject:     RESOLUTION.

I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 17th February, 2026 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Sumeta Afzal Syed, MPA:

This House expresses grave concern over the recurring and unannounced load-shedding of natural gas across the province, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, which causes severe hardship to the people of Sindh.

This House notes with deep distress that disruption of gas supply during the critical hours of Sehri and Iftari directly affects citizens in the observance of their religious obligations and places an undue burden on households, especially women, senior citizens, daily wage earners, and low-income families who depend primarily on natural gas for the preparation of meals.

Recognizing the sanctity of Ramadan and the responsibility of the State to facilitate its citizens during this sacred month, this House hereby resolves to recommend to the Federal Government and the concerned authorities, including Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), that:

01. No unannounced load-shedding of natural gas shall be carried out during the month of Ramadan.

02. Special measures be undertaken to ensure uninterrupted and adequate gas supply during Sehri and Iftari hours across the province.

03. A clear and publicly communicated gas supply schedule, if required, be announced in advance to avoid uncertainty and public distress.

04. An effective complaint redressal mechanism be activated to promptly address gas supply disruptions.

This House urges the concerned authorities to take immediate and proactive steps to safeguard the convenience, dignity, and religious observance of the people of Sindh during Ramadan.
