Karachi (04 February 2026):
The arrival of national and international delegations continues in regard with the International Parliamentary Conference i.e. 7th CPA Asia Regional Conference and 2nd Joint CPA Asia & South-East Asia Regional Conference being hosted by the Provincial Assembly from 3 to 7 February 2026. 

Parliamentarians, Speakers, CPA Delegates, and Observers from various countries are arriving in Karachi to participate in the Joint Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Asia and South-East Asia Regions.

In this regard, a 22-member parliamentary delegation from various states of Malaysia has arrived in Karachi to attend the CPA Conference. The delegation comprises Speakers of State Legislative Assemblies, Members of Legislative Assemblies, CPA Delegates, and Observers from the states of Pahang, Penang, Kelantan, Selangor, and Perak.

From the Pahang State Legislative Assembly, the delegation includes Hon. Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Sharkar bin Haji Shamsudin, Speaker, along with Hon. Dato’ Rodzuan bin Zaaba and Mr. Khaizalnizam bin Mohamad Zuldin.

From the Penang State Legislative Assembly, the delegation includes The Hon. Bukhori bin Ghazali, The Hon. Dato’ Rashidi bin Zinol, Mr. Meor Hamzah bin Abdullah Sani, Deputy Secretary, and Mr. Mohamad Radzi bin Razmi, Senior Administrative Assistant.

From the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly, the delegation includes Hon. Dato’ Sri Amar D’Raja Dr. Haji Mohd Amar bin Abdullah, Speaker, accompanied by his spouse Datin Hasmani binti Husain; Hon. Dato’ Mohamed Farid bin Mohamed Zawawi, Deputy Speaker; Mohd Fadzil Aznan bin Abdul Aziz, Regional Branch Delegate CPA; and Dato’ Abdul Hadi bin Awang Kechil, Regional Branch Delegate CPA.

From the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, the delegation includes Hon. Lau Weng San, Speaker; Mr. Leong Tuck Chee, Member of the State Legislative Assembly; and Ms. Siti Khadijah Maarof, Coordinator Officer of the Speaker’s Office.

Additionally, from the Perak State Legislative Assembly, the delegation includes Hon. Dato’ Seri Mohammad Zahir bin Abdul Khalid, Speaker, along with Observers Mr. Muhammad Muizzuddin Rosman, Mrs. Salina Samsudin, and Miss Wong Chai Yi. The delegation also includes Hon. Dr. Mohamad Yusri bin Bakir, Observer; Mr. Mohd Ikram bin Ahmad, CPA Delegate; and Mr. Mohd Haikal bin Herdin, CPA Delegate.

The 22-member Malaysian parliamentary delegation was warmly received at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, by Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Mr. Anthony Naveed, along with other MPAS including Khurram Karim Soomro, Muhammad Asif Moosa, Mahesh Kumar Hasija, Maaz Mehboob, and Engr. Adil Askari.
