Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Wednesday, the 22nd May, 2024 has passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Khurram Karim Soomro, MPA:
“This House expresses gratitude to Allah Ta’ala for the natural beauty and abundant resources bestowed upon our Nation and acknowledges that it would be difficult to imagine life on earth with a spoiled natural environment. The House resolves to dedicate two days a month for environmental conservation efforts.
“On the first Tuesday and third Sunday of every month, individuals and organizations shall participate in activities such as clean-up efforts, tree planting,and awareness campaigns to address immediate environmental concerns and cultivate a lasting culture of environmental responsibility. This initiative shall be supported by Government bodies, NGOs, businesses, industries, community organizations, educational institutions, and citizens to ensure broad participation and impact.
This drive aims to engage all people of Sindh, communities and the Government to join hands for Environmental Protection as crucial aspect of our civic duty. This House extends its unwavering support to the environmental Conservation drive."

Grade-wise number of persons appointed in Energy department during 2020 to 2023 including the criteria for same?

59 *Mr. Muhammad Mazahir Amir:
Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to State:-
(a)Whether is it a fact that electricity crisis and power break for 10- 12 hours has crippled life in Karachi;
(b) If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, what measure will be taken by the department to provide un-interrupted electricity in the holy month of Ramdan?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:-
It is submitted that in certain areas of Karachi, the Load shedding goes to 10-12 hours due to recovery issue however, in the areas where the recovery is more than 80% there is no load shedding.

(a) Is it a fact that facility of solar energy provided in the province under Solar Light Project during 01-01-2019 to 01-01-2023;
(b) If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative district-wise details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:-
(a) There was no any “Solar Light Program” in the province since 01-01-2019 to 01-01-2023, however, with the support of World Bank“Sindh Solar Energy Project” is under execution, wherein 200,000 Solar Home Systems will be provided.
(b) So far, 322 Solar Home system kits have been distributed in the following districts:

Number of persons being benefited from the Thar power plant as well as units of electricity being supplied to them free of cost?
ANSWER

Energy Department Government of Sindh is giving incentive of 100 units of free Electricity to the 4689 consumers per month of Taluka Islam Kot.

Grade-wise number of persons appointed during 2017 to 2023 alongwith criteria followed for their selection?

It is to inform that 08 officers in grade-17 and 06 officers in grade-16 possessing the degree of B.E (Electrical) were recruited in Energy Department Govt. of Sindh, through Sindh Public Service Commission during 2017 to 2019.
