How many women-focused microfinance schemes were introduced in Sindh in 2024?
ANSWER
MS. SHAHEENA SHER ALI, MINISTER FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT: -
No, initiative was taken for women-focused microfinances schemes by Women Development Department in the year 2024.
However, we assisted and supported various reputable organizations for empowering women.

How is the Government addressing gaps in law enforcement training to ensure women’s safety in 2024?
ANSWER
MS. SHAHEENA SHER ALI, MINISTER FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT: -
The Government of Sindh is taking several steps to address gaps in law enforcement training and ensure women’s safety in the province. The safety issue of Women is a mandate of Police Department.
However, The Women Development in collaboration with Police Department is providing trainings to the filed officers for the safety of the victims. These programs aim at enhancing the police force capacity and capacity of Women Development Officers and efficiency in handing cases related to women’s safety. The Government has established One Stop Protection Centre dedicated units within police stations to handle the cases of gender-based violence, staffed by trained female Police officers. Women Development Department is Providing trainings frequently in different districts of the Sindh.

How many programs focusing on women’s safety were implemented in Sindh during 2024?
ANSWER
MS. SHAHEENA SHER ALI, MINISTER FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT: -
There were no program focusing on women’s safety was implemented in Sindh during 2024 by Women Development Department.
However, the Department is already running 5 Dar-ul-Amans, 22 Safe Houses in the districts of the Sindh that provide shelter to the victims of GBV and 17 Women Complaint Cells are working to provide counseling, legal support and to resolves matters out of court.

Number of women with skills and handicrafts participated in WDD by exhibiting their goods at different exhibitions from August 2022 to November 2024?
ANSWER

It is to state that 650 women were given skilled trainings and 150 women participated at different exhibitions from August 2022 to November, 2024.
