Provide details on any museum or exhibitions showcasing Sindh’s archaeological treasures?

SYED ZULFIQAR ALI SHAH: MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM & ANTIQUITIES:-

The museums where Sindh’s archaeological treasures have been showcased, are as under: -

i)           Mohenjo Daro Museum at Larkana.

ii)         Banbhore Museum at Thatta

iii)       Makli Museum at Thatta

iv)       Mansurah Museum at Sanghar

v)         Thar Museum at Umerkot

vi)       Moomal Ji Mari Museum at Ghotki

vii)     Chahun Jo Daro at Nawabshah

viii)   Sindh Provincial Museum, Hyderabad.

ix)       Laar Museum, Badin.

x)         Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Museum, Larkana.

xi)       Folk Craft Museum, Sehwan.

xii)     Marvi Jo Khooh Museum, Bhalwa, Mithi.

xiii)   Shah Abdul Latif Museum, Bhitshah.

(a)          Is it a fact that the new libraries are being set up in the province;

(b)         If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, location and number of books in each library established since 01-07-2020 till to date?

SYED ZULFIQAR ALI SHAH: MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM &ANTIQUITIES: -

(a)        Yes, Culture, Tourism, Antiquities & Archives Department has set up 24 new libraries in the Sindh province.

List of libraries along-with number of books in each library from 01-07-2020 to till date is at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

What is the number of air-conditioned auditoriums existing in the province along with the number of new auditoriums established during 2020 to 2024, including the amount spent thereon?

ANSWER

 

SYED ZULFIQAR ALI SHAH: MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM &ANTIQUITIES: -

 

a.             There are six (06) air-conditioned auditoriums in the province, along with two (02) newly established auditoriums during the period 2020 to 2024: -

i)              Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo Auditorium, Karachi.

ii)            Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium, Hyderabad

iii)          Sachal Academy Auditorium in Khairpur Mirs

iv)          Auditorium in Culture Complex, Mirpurkhas

v)            Syed Hakim Shah Bukhari Auditorium, Dadu

vi)          Auditorium at Mehran Arts Council, Hyderabad

b.         The details of the new auditoriums and amounts spent thereon is as under: -

(a)    Is it a fact that there are online booking/reservation websites available for international tourists visiting Sindh Province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, then details thereof?

(a)          Yes

(b)         International and domestic tourist visiting Sindh Province my make online reservations through the official websites of Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (SDC) at www.stdc.gos.pk. The online reservation facility is available for the following:

 

i)              Hotel Sambara Inn, Larkana

ii)         GarhiKhudaBux Motel, Larkana.

iii)       Keenjhar Lake Resort, Thatta

iv)       Marvi Rest house, Mithi – Tharparkar

v)         Lal Shahbaz Rest Houe, Sehwan

Will the Minister for Culture, Tourism & Antiquities be pleased to State: -

Whether is it a fact that Frere Hall is being handed over to a private organization, if so, what are the terms and conditions of the same?

ANSWER

 

SYED ZULFIQAR ALI SHAH: MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM & ANTIQUITIES: -

In response to the question, it is stated that although the Frere Hall is only notified as ‘Protected Cultural Heritage’ under Sindh Cultural Heritage (Preservation) Act, 1994 and its administration is actually owned by the Karachi Municipal Corporation.

Will the Minister for Culture, Tourism & Antiquities be pleased to State: -

Name the locations where lakes and recreational areas exist in Sindh and the number of people who have been appointed by the Sindh Government for the same from 1-1-6-2020 to 1-6-2025; furnish detail thereof.

ANSWER

Given below are the locations, where prominent lakes and recreational areas exist, in Sindh.

1)      Keenjhar Lake, District Thatta.

2)      Haleji Lake, District Thatta.

3)      Bqar Lake, District Sanghar.

4)      Kalanker Lake, District Sanghar.

5)      Manchar Lake, District Jamshoro.

It is submitted that no person was appointed on regular basis on above recreational areas, during the period from 01-01-2020 to 01-06-2025.
