Will the Minister for Universities and Boards be pleased to State:-

(a)  Is it a fact that Chairman Board of Intermediate Mirpurkhas still not appointed due to which board is under maladministration;

(b)  If answer to (a) above is in affirmative, reasons thereof alongwith steps taken in this regards?

ANSWER

MR. MUHAMMAD ISMAIL RAHOO, MINISTER FOR UNIVERSITIES & BOARDS:-

(a)      It is stated that Dr. Samar Raza Talpur, Director, IBA, Sukkur University, Mirpurkhas Campus has been working s Chairman, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE), Mirpurkhas on additional charge basis since 11th September, 2024.

(b)     Simultaneously, the appointment process for regular Chairman, BISE Mirpurkhas is under way and likely to be completed within 45-60 days through the Search Committee

Will the Minister for Universities and Boards be pleased to State:-

(a)      Is it a fact that financial assistance is being provided to the universities of the province; if so, its procedure?

(b)     Whether scholarships are also provided to the students of universities on the basis of merit/need; if so, detail thereof?

ANSWER 

MR. MUHAMMAD ISMAIL RAHOO, MINISTER FOR UNIVERSITIES & BOARDS:- 

(a)   Yes, the financial assistance is being provided to all public sector Universities as grant-in-aid. An amount of Rs.41, 162.250 million has been allocated during current financial year 2025-26.

(b)   Yes Government of Sindh provides scholarships for the students of M.Phil/Ph.D. An amount of Rs.60 million has been allocated for scholarships during the current financial year 2025-26. Details are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House

Is it a fact that fees have been increased by the educational boards, if so,what are the causes of the financial crises of boards and what steps have been taken by the Government?

ANSWER

MR. MUHAMMAD ISMAIL RAHOO, MINISTER FOR UNIVERSITIES & BOARDS:-

A modest revision in various categories of fees charged by the Board from both public and private sector institutions has been implemented starting from the academic year 2024-2025. This adjustment has been necessitated due to the increased cost of printing and examination materials, machinery, and equipment used in the examination process. It is important to note that the Government of Sindh reimburses the examination fees of students of public sector institutions of Class-IX-XII and therefore, the boards are not facing any financial crises.

How many student point buses are reserved for Liyari Town by the University of Karachi?

ANSWER

Two (2) point buses are operating close to Layari area (Tower, Keamari, GolimarBismillah) facilitating commuters from Layari.

How many student point buses are reserved for Korangi District by the University of Karachi?

ANSWER

Four (04) point buses of Karachi University are operating to accommodate students of Korangi area.
