How much salt is produced annually from the sea in Karachi including the revenue being generated from it?
ANSWER

No permit or lease for sea salt in Karachi is granted as yet hence no production or revenue is generated from it.

(a) Is it a fact that Bentonite is found in the Province;
(b) If the response to (a) above is yes, estimated reserves as of 01-07-2024?

MR. MUHAMMAD YOUSUF BALOCH: PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARYFOR MINES AND MINERALS DEVELOPMENT:-
(a) Yes. Bentonite occurs in Sindh Province in District Karachi, Thatta, and Tharparkar.
(b) Un-estimated. The reserves of bentonite are un-estimated because no study regarding the estimation of reserves was carried out in the past. The department has initiated a detailed feasibility study for reserves estimation of all mineral across the province.

(a) Yes. Gypsum occurs in Sindh Province in District Dadu, Sangharand Mirpur Khas.
(b) Un-estimated. The reserves of Gypsum are un-estimated because no study regarding the estimation of reserves was carried out in the past. The department has initiated a detailed feasibility study for reserves estimation of all mineral across the province..
