Will the Minister for Planning and Development be pleased to State:-
Budget allocated for different schemes in PS-104 of District East Karachi by Sindh Government during2022-23 along with location-wise number of schemes completed and still under process?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT:-
Government of Sindh allocates budget to different schemes on sectoral basis, not on the basis of constituency. However, there were 69 schemes of District Karachi East which were present in provincial ADP 2022-23, out of which 28 schemes were completed and remaining schemes continued in ADP 2023-24. Details are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

Budget allocated for different schemes of Karachi by Sindh Government during 2018-2019 to 2022-2023 along with location-wise number of schemes completed and still under process?

Location wise number of schemes completed by Government of Sindh during 2018-19 to 2023-24 alongwith budget allocated for different schemes of Karachi are given as under: -

Will the Minister for Planning and Development be pleased to State:-
a) Is it fact that a scheme of Sindh Municipal Services Delivery Program (SMSDP) Planning & Development Department Government of Sindh with cost of Rs. 1526.550 million is to be completed by September 2024;
b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, detail of work completed and amount spent todate?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT:-
It is a fact that the Sindh Municipal Services Delivery Program was expected to be completed till 30th September, 2024. However, due to some pending Infrastructure work of Waste Water as Additional work of Oxidation ponds, the program period has been extended by the USAID as well as Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad up to 30th June, 2025, vide Planning and Development Department, GoS’s letter bearing No. SO (G) / (P&D)/ 1 (12)/ 2024-25 (MSDP), dated 15th November, 2024. Details is at Annexure placed on the table on the Table of the House.

Will the Minister for Planning and Development be pleased to State:-
a) Is it fact that a scheme of People’s Poverty Reduction Programme (PPRP) Khirpur, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar &Thatta with cost of Rs. 9367.488 million is to be completed by June 2025;
b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, detail of work completed and amount spent todate?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT:-
It is submitted that Peoples Poverty Reduction Program (PPRP), was initially started in 2008-09 as a pilot project in District Shikarpur & Kashmore with the title of Union Council Based Poverty Reduction Program (UCBPRP), which was completed in 2012. Considering the success of program in above districts, it was expanded in various districts of Sindh i.e. Khairpur, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar & Thatta with the approval of Honourable Chief Minister, Sindh.
Moreover, it is a fact that scheme is expected to be completed by June, 2025, subject to condition that 100% allocated funds are released by Finance Department, GoS.

Will the Minister for Planning and Development be pleased to State:-
(a) Is it fact that projects are running with foreign funding in Sindh;
(b) If so, year-wise detail of the said projects for last five years,
(c) Whether any loans taken for development schemes from international organizations by the Government of Sindh?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT:-
Yes, currently total 28 foreign funded projects (25 Loan & 03 Grant) are ongoing in Sindh Province.
Year-wise details from 2021-2025 of foreign funded projects is at Annexure Placed on the Table of the House.
The Sindh Government has taken loan from international development partners for 25 development schemes. List of international partner alongwith their commitments for development schemes are at Annexure Placed on the Table of the House.

What are the main projects for 2024-25 that will address Karachi's urban planning issues, including as waste management, traffic congestion and housing shortages?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT:-
988 schemes are included in ADP 2024-25 for Karachi, which includes (i) 161 schemes of Water Supply, 63 schemes of Roads, 310 schemes of Community Services, 03 schemes of Solid Waste Management, 02 schemes of Housing Town Planning & 11 Mega projects for Karachi pertaining to Local Government Department (ii) 04 schemes of Industries & Commerce Department, (iii) 20 schemes of Public Health Engineering Department (iv) 01 scheme of Planning & Development Department (v) 24 schemes of Sports & Youth Affairs Department (vi) 14 schemes of Transport & Mass Transit Department and (vii) 08 schemes of Works & Services Department address the issues of Karachi’s urban planning, waste management and traffic congestion and housing shortages, etc.

Number of projects going on with the assistance of Federal Government in Sindh as now furnish detail thereof?
ANSWER
SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT:-
In Sindh, a total of 20 projects are ongoing in the 2024-25 fiscal year, with a combined cost of Rs.364,055.518 million.
These projects are being implemented by the Government of Sindh with the assistance from the Federal Government. For the current year, a total allocation of Rs.81,331.911 million has been made, out of which Rs.53,103.554 million has been released. Details are at Annexure Placed on the Table of the House.

Current number of International funded Projects running in Sindh as well as detail thereof?
ANSWER

There are Twenty-eight (28) ADP projects running with the assistance of International Development Partners. The list of projects alongwith detail is at Annexure Placed on the Table of the House.
