Grade-wise number of lecturers and Professors currently working in the Government Colleges of Karachi alongwith number of vacant posts are as under:-

The vacant posts of Lecturers BPS-17 are filled through SPSC for which requisition has already been sent to SPSC and the recruitment is under process,whereas other posts are to be filled by promotions, out of which promotions of Professor BPS-20 has been made by PSB-I in May, 2024. The promotions of other posts are also under process.

(a)   Is it a fact that buildings of Colleges in District Malir and Central are in deplorable condition;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is in affirmative steps taken for there repair?

Some of the College building need maintenance & repair work.

Requisition already sent to Works & Services, College Education Department for the maintenance & repair.

1. Whether it is a fact that low quality material is being used for the  construction of new building of Government Boys Degree College Gulzar-e-Hijri Karachi by the contractors;
2. If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative details thereof alongwith action taken in this regard?

ANSWER

The college building is intact. The MEC team of P&D Department, Govt. of Sindh after conducting the visits has reported satisfactory conditions. Furthermore, the report and photographs are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

Budget allocated for the construction of new building of Government Boys Degree College Gulzar-e-Hijri Karachi alongwith actually released and utilized till-to-date?

ANSWER

Rs. 96.999 millions were approved for the scheme “Improvement/Renovation of Govt. Boys Degree College Gulzar-e-Hijri district East Karachi. Rs. 96.822 million were released and all Rs. 96.822 millions were utilized till June, 2024. The scheme has been completed in June, 2024.
