No recruitment was made in Law Department on Secretariat side, however, recruitments were made in the following attached offices as per details given hereunder: -

During the referred period following officers were appointed on the recommendation of SPSC: -

  1. Addl. Prosecutors General (BS-19)                        08

Will the Minister for Law be pleased to State:-

 

  1. Is it fact that a project of construction of two (02) court Building at Nasirabad with cost of Rs.55.000 million to be completed in June 2022;
  2. If answer to (a) above is affirmative, details of work completed and amount spent to-date?

 

ANSWER

 

MR. ZIA-UL-HASSAN LANJAR: MINISTER FOR LAW AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS:-

 

It is submitted that the scheme was originally approved for Rs.43.833 (M) during 2017-18 which was revised for Rs.80.678(M) as the plot for scheme was handed over 12 ft below the road level.

An expenditure of Rs.76.812 (M) has been incurred; physical position is as under:

Two courts Buildings Right wing completed, handed over & occupied by the Civil Judge; Judicial Lockup plaster work is in progress;

Compound wall finishing work is in progress.

The said scheme is likely to be completed by June 2025.

Will the Minister for Law be pleased to State:-

 

  1. Is it a fact that promotion in the Criminal Prosecution Service does not include conviction rate or any merit based criteria;
  2. If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 

ANSWER

 

MR. ZIA-UL-HASSAN LANJAR: MINISTER FOR LAW AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS:-

 

It is correct that “promotion” in the Criminal Prosecution Service does not based on performance evaluation. On the contrary, the promotion is based on principle of seniority under the Appointment, Promotion and Transfer Rules, 1974 in general manners, as being done for the Civil Servant.

 

725      *Mr. Muhammad Shabbir Qureshi:         

Will the Minister for Law be pleased to State:-

 

  1. Is it fact that a project of construction of two (02) courts building at JohiDadu with cost of Rs.55.000 million is to be completed by June 2022;
  2. If answer to (a) above is in affirmative current status of the same?

 

ANSWER

 

MR. ZIA-UL-HASSAN LANJAR: MINISTER FOR LAW AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS:-

 

Yes:-

The scheme was scheduled to be completed by June 2022, but due to price escalation, the scheme was revised to the tune of Rs.163.644 (M) and will be completed during current financial year 2024-25.

  1. Is it a fact that the measures are likely to be implemented to ensure that prosecutors turn out in Anti-Terrorism Courts;
  2. If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 

ANSWER

 

MR. ZIA-UL-HASSAN LANJAR: MINISTER FOR LAW AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS:-

 

The Office of Prosecutor General Sindh has proposed draft Rules for approval in terms of Section 18 of the Sindh Criminal Prosecution Service (Constitutions, Functions and Power) Act, 2009, considering the formula of promotion on performance evaluation and other relevant factors.
