Will the Minister for Labour and Human Resources be pleased to State:-
Number of new health institutes of labour department established and up-graded in every district of province during 2020 to 2023 along with amount spent?
ANSWER
MR. SHAHID ABDUS SALAM THAHEEM: MINISTER FOR LABOUR AND HUMAN RESOURCES:-
The Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) stated as under:-
i) Twenty (20) bedded Social Security Hospital Sukkur has upgraded during the year 2023. An amount of Rs. 500,000/- has incurred on some minor repair work.
ii) Fifty (50) bedded Social Security Hospital at Chounddko District Khairpur has constructed by Workers welfare Board, Government of Pakistan which will functional soon after completion of minor civil work by the contractor, and facility of hospital will start once the MOU between SESSI and Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) is rectified and approved by the Governing Body (G.B) SESSI.

Number of hospitals, dispensaries and schools have been established for workers and their children in the Province during the last five years as well as facilities are provided therein?
ANSWER
MR. SHAHID ABDUS SALAM THAHEEM: MINISTER FOR LABOUR AND HUMAN RESOURCES:-
The Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI)informed that the five (05) Hospitals and forty two (42) Dispensaries are working and providing treatment and health care facilities to the secured workers and their dependents / children like vaccination / medicines, lab investigations, surgeries consultations and follow-up treatments. The SESSI Dispensaries also provide treatments as basic health unit and refers to the tertiary care SESSI hospitals for further advice and specialist consultation. The SESSI hospitals provide medical treatment to Secured workers and their dependents. There are departments of medicines, General Surgery, ENT, Eye, Gynae / Obstetrics / Psychiatry. Oncology, Dermatology, Dental care, Radiology, Neurology, Orthopedics. There are indoor and outdoor facilities for patients in the respective departments as per their requirement. The Social Security facilitates the labour workers and their families to its utmost level for better provision of health care.
Workers Welfare Board Sindh (WWBS)informed twenty-one (21) Workers Model/Primary Schools and two (02) Colleges (one each for Boys and Girls) have been established for several decades under the administrative supervision of the Workers Welfare Board Sindh. These institutions have been diligently providing quality education to the children of Workers, along with essential educational amenities such as textbooks, school uniforms, school bags, and school shoes, prior to a cash payment of Rs. 6,000/-

However, no building of School/ College/ Hospital/ Dispensaries has been established during the last five years.
Mines Labour welfare organization (MLWO) informed that No any hospital and dispensary or school has been established for workers and their children in the province by this Organization during the last five years.

Is it fact that EOBI facilities being provided to labourers if so,furnishdetail thereof?
ANSWER
MR. SHAHID ABDUS SALAM THAHEEM: MINISTER FOR LABOUR AND HUMAN RESOURCES:-
The requisite information may be treated as NIL.
The Employees Old-age Benefit Institute (EOBI) falls under the jurisdiction of Federal Government, and the EOBI is yet to be devolved to the provinces, for which the case is pending with Council of Common Interests (CCI).

Number of cases of child Labour reported during 2018 to 2023 in Labour Department alongwith the action taken against the same?
ANSWER

Number of cases of child labour reported during 2018 to 2023 are 120 and prosecutions pertinent there to were lodged in competent court of Law.

It is submitted that Directorate General Labour, Sindh register only shops & factories but does not register workers employed therein.

The Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) informed that there is no any health institute established and up-graded in district East Karachi during last five years i.e. from 2018 to 2023.
