As advised by the Chief Minister and in excercise of the powers conferred upon me under clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, and other provisions enabling me in this behalf, I, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Governor of Sindh, hereby dissolve the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on Tuesday the 19th day of March, 2013.
Syed Shehla Raza w/o Ghulam Qadir was born in Karachi on May 15th, 1964 at Karachi. She completed her early education at Karachi, passes Matric from GovernmentHigh School, Hyderabad and Intermediate from GovernmentCollege, Khairpur. She did her Graduation and Post Graduation in Physiology from University of Karachi. She started her political career from year 1986 by joining People’s Student Federation ( a student wing of Pakistan People’s Party) during military rule when there was complete ban on political activities. Within short span of three years, she was elected as Joint Secretary of People’s Student Federation (PSF), KarachiUniversity and then elected as Joint Secretary, PPP Women Wing, Karachi Region. In year 2005, she became General Secretary of Women Wing, PPP Karachi Division. Being a political worker and activist of student wing, She was arrested in false and fabricated cases made by the then Governor of Mian Nawaz Sharif. A case of dual murder and supply of arms was lodged against her and she was arrested from Golimar area of Karachi. She also remained 24 days at CIA centre, Karachi and underwent brutal torture. Second time, she was arrested in the dual murder case of employees of KarachiUniversity and remained in jail for 4 months. She was elected as member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh in the Elections held in year 2008 on the reserved seat from platform of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian. On April 7th, 2008 She was elected un-opposed as Deputy Speaker, Provincial Assembly of Sindh, By virtue of this, She is also Vice President, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Sindh Branch.
