Estimated percentage of mal-nutrition kids under the age of 5 and 12 years old and youth between the age of 10 to 18 years in the province?
ANSWER
DR. AZRA FAZAL PECHUHO, MINISTER FOR HEALTH:
According to National Nutrition Survey (NNS) – 2001, the results for Sindh Province are as follows:
Children under five years of age:
· 45.5% are stunted
· 41.3% are underweight
· 23.3% are wasted
Adolescent (girls & boys aged 10 to 19 years):
· 16.6% girls and 30.6% boys are underweight
· 61.2% adolescent girls and 45.3% women of reproductive age are anemic

Amount earmarked during 2018-19 under head of medicines alongwith amount spent up to December, 2018 (06 months) for Lyari General Hospital Karachi?

Five (05) ambulances are available at Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital Karachi as on 01.10.2018.

Number of Government hospitals working under public private partnership in the Province along with their volume of budget allotted by Government?
ANSWER

Total 160 Government health facilities of the Province are managed by 05 NGOs under public private partnership. The budget allocated by Government along with number of health facilities to each NGO is mentioned as under:

a) No. it is not a fact.
b) The Health facility Taluka (Civil Hospital) Naushahro feroze provided following health facilities to the patients of the catchment areas as under:

(a) Number of Hepatitis A, B and C patients reported in the province particularly in district Khairpur during 2016-2018;
(b) Is it a fact that they were provided treatment at each BHU, Taluka hospital and dispensary in district Khairpur;
(c) If answer to (b) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER

(a) Since Hepatitis “A” is a self-limiting disease, hence, it is not included in the list of notifiable diseases, therefore its data is not maintained. However, the number of Hepatitis “B” & “C” patients reported / registered in the Province, particularly in District Khairpur during 2016-2018 are as under:-

b) No, it is not a fact. Such patients are not dealt at the level of BHUs and dispensaries. However, the department has established hepatic sentinel sites in the province where such patients are screened, registered, vaccinated and treated.

(a) Is it a fact that all over the world child and infant mortality has come down but in Sindh it has gone up. Infant mortality from 74 to 82 per 1000 live birth. Under five years child mortality from 89 to 104 per 1000 deaths which is deplorable and shameful;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?
