The House commemorates the International Women’s Day that urges upon the world conscience to recognize the dignity of women. The day calls upon the Nations around the world to abrogate gender inequality in its all forms and manifestation and remove all barriers that resist women empowerment. Women are an integral part of our social system. They have successfully performed their role of mother, wife and caretaker of home. Unfortunately the plight of women in Pakistan deplorable is harassment of women, sexual abuse, honour killings and other forms of domestic violence are rampant in the country. They still face discrimination in various circles, be it at home or at work place. The global gender GAP Index Report 2020 puts Pakistan at 151 out of a total of 153. The House pledges to end marginalization of women by recognizing their inclusive role in decision making on significant matters. The House further recommends the Government to take necessary policy initiatives from empowerment of women.
