I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Wednesday, the 28th August, 2019 has passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Bilal Ahmed, MPA, Mr. Khurram Sher Zaman, MPA, Mr. Shahzad Qureshi, MPA, Ms. Adeeba Hassan, MPA, Mr. Sanjay Gangwani, MPA, Ms. Rabia Azfar Nizami, MPA, Mr. Waseemuddin Qureshi, MPA, Ms. Rana Ansar, MPA, Syed Imran Ali Shah, MPA and Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi, MPA:
“This House expresses grief on the death of 11-year-old Usman Durrani who passed away during swimming classes at Habib Public School. Usman was a student of sixth grade. It is reported that at the time of this incident instructors could not take timely action and thus Usman could not be saved. This incident may reflect negligence on part of school authorities who failed to ensure safety of students.
This House demands that an inquiry should be held and a Commission should be formed to investigate this incident and culprits should be brought to justice.
All our sympathies and support are with the victim’s family.”.
