As advised by the Chief Minister and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under clause (1) of Article-112 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 and other provisions enabling me in this behalf, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, Governor of Sindh, hereby dissolve the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on 11th day of August, 2023 at 9:00 p.m.

Subject:        RESOLUTION. 

I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Friday, the 09th November, 2018 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Works and Services, Prisons and Religious Affairs, Sindh:

 

WHEREAS in order to maintain the unanimity on all religious occasions nationwide and to regulate the Ruet-e-Hilal arrangements, a law regulating the matters relating to Ruet-e-Hilal by Parliament;

 

AND WHEREAS the proposed law falls within the provincial legislative field and the Parliament has no power to enact it unless one or more Provincial Assemblies pass Resolution to authorize the Parliament to enact such law under Article 144 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973;

 

AND WHEREAS it is expedient in the Public interest to authorize the Parliament to enact the proposed law;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the Provincial Assembly of Sindh by this Resolution hereby authorizes the Parliament to enact a law regulating the matters relating to Ruet-e-Hilal by the Parliament.”.
