Subject:        RESOLUTION.

I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Wednesday, the 08th November, 2017 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Syed Sardar Ahmed, MPA, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Minister for Food and Parliamentary Affairs, Sindh and Mr. Nand Kumar, MPA:-

“Calamities and Catastrophes that include assassination, ethnic cleansing, horrific rapes and arson to their villages by the Budhist Monks and Myanmar Government have become the fate of Rohingya Muslims. But the ethnic cleansing has taken a worst turn in the last week of August, 2017 when thousands of Rohingya Muslims including their children have been massacred women raped and their villages burnt as confirmed by a Senior United Nation’s Representative on 8th September, 2017. In the wake of worst atrocities more than 600,000 Muslims were forced to abandon their hearth and home and left with no choice but to flee and seek refuge in Bangladesh. While fleeing thousands lost their lives when their boats sunk because of rough sea or overloading. Unfortunately, Aung San Suu Kyi (ASSK)-the leader of Myanmar who had been awarded the Nobel Prize for resisting the previous regime, remained a silent spectator without stopping this reign of terror.

The ethnic cleansing and atrocities being committed by the Government of Myanmar against the Rohingya Muslims is not only condemned but Government of Pakistan is requested to thank Government of Bangladesh without any reservation for allowing 600,000 fleeing Rohingya Muslims to cross the International Border and take refuge in their country. Secondly Government of Pakistan may also approach the United Nations through the U.N Secretary General Antonio Guterres, to intervene promptly by sending U.N Force to stop the brutalities against the Muslims of Myanmar. Federal Government is also requested to demand the implementation of the Rakhine Advisory Commission Report led by Former U.N Secretary General Kofi Annan that interalia said “If they (Rohingya Muslims) are left to fester the future of the Rakhine state-and indeed of Myanmar as a whole will be irretrievably jeopardized”. Exclusively from humanitarian point of view, Government of Sindh is requested to consider donating some funds, in cash or in kind, as a token relief to the Muslim refugees of Myanmar in Bangladesh who are in great distress.”.
