Subject:             RESOLUTION.

 

 

I am directed to state that Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Thursday, the 7th June, 2012 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Sindh:-

 

 

“WHEREAS the Islamic Republic of Pakistan being the signatory of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is required to enact a law on Plant Breeders Rights Protection by Parliament;

 

 

                                    AND WHEREAS the proposed law falls within the Provincial Legislative Field and the Parliament has no power to enact it unless one or more Provincial Assemblies pass Resolution to authorize the Parliament to enact such law under Article 144 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973;

 

 

                                    AND WHEREAS it is expedient in the Public interest to authorize the Parliament to enact the proposed law;

 

 

                                    NOW, THEREFORE, the Provincial Assembly of Sindh by this Resolution hereby authorizes the Parliament to enact a law regulating the Plant Breeders Rights.”
