03-       CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 01 OF 2022;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. SHAHZAD QURESHI, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the garbage and solid waste is being dumped in the Malir Nadi by the Mafia for their vested interests and that mafia enjoys the backing of some influential. What steps have been taken for the investigation and prosecution of the culprits; give definite timeline for the same?

Mr. Speaker announces that the Honourable Governor of Sindh has given assent to the following Bills:-

04-     The Sindh Arms (Amendment) Bill, 2021.

05-     The Sindh Telemedicine and Telehealth Bill, 2021.

278.       *Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi:      Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that wheat bags (Bardana) are sold by the department to farmers;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof? 

ANSWER

Mr. Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Minister for Food:

              No. The Bardana is issued to the growers / farmers free of cost.

313.       *Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi:      Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

The grade-wise number of people given jobs in the Department between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018 including those on contract and on regular basis?

(a)   Is it a fact that gunny bag quota for Senators, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of the ruling party still exists;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, does department intend to abolish the same?

ANSWER

Mr. Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Minister for Food:

No. There is no gunny bag quota for Senators, MNAs, MPAs and office bearers of the ruling party.

(a)    Is it fact that Sindh Food Authority has been established under Sindh Food Authority Act-2016;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the details thereof?

ANSWER

Mr. Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Minister for Food:

Yes.

The Sindh Food Authority Bill 2016 having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on 08^th March 2017 and assented to by the Governor of Sindh on 08^th April 2017, is published as an Act of the Legislature of Sindh.

As per section 1(2) of Sindh Food Authority Act, 2016,”It shall extend to the whole of the Province of Sindh”.

1434.     *Mr. Muhammad Hussain Khan:   Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

              Number of persons appointed in BPS-1 and above in the Sindh Food Authority?

ANSWER

Mr. Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Minister for Food:

Sindh Food Authority has not made any appointments in BS-01 and above. Only contingency staff has been hired for render of services for 89 days..

1642.     *Khuwaja Izhar-ul-Hassan:             Will the Minister for Food be pleased to state:-

(a)      Whether any post of Food Chemical Examiner or Food Inspection officer exist in Sindh Food Authority:

(b)      If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, details thereof?

ANSWER

Mr. Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Minister for Food:

No. The post of Food Chemical Examiner or Food Inspection Officer does not exist in the Sindh Food Authority.
