3048. *Mr. Muhammad Aslam Abro: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that villages in district Jacobabad provided electricity during 2013 to 2018;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the detail thereof including amount spent and criteria followed?
ANSWER
MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:
Yes.
A total of 250 villages have been electrified in District Jacobabad during 2013 to 2018 at cost of Rs 268.8 Million under Village Electrification Program in Sindh. The criteria of the electrification of villages is as follows:
a) Villages having population of 100 souls and above;
b) Villages having maximum distance of 4 km from existing 11KV line;
c) Preference would be given to villages within 0.5 km distance from high tension power lines.
The details of villages electrified in Jacobabad are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.
3152. *Syed Abdul Rasheed: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that Thar Coal is not a Sustainable energy Sources;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?
ANSWER
MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:
No, it is sustainable energy source.
The answer to above (a) is negative
3860. *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that villages provided electricity in the province through provincial funding during 2013-18;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof including fund utilized?
ANSWER
MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:
(a) Yes, funds were allocated under provincial annual development program.
(b) A total number of 2,891 villages have been electrified in the Province by utilizing funds amounting to Rs. 3,658 Million from 2013-18. The villages electrification program was executed through M/s HESCO, M/S SEPCO and M/s KE in their respective services territories in the Province.
3865. *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that wind power projects established in the Province during 2008-2013;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof including benefits achieved and expenditure incurred?
ANSWER
MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:
(a) Yes.
(b) Wind Power Projects established during 2008-2013 in Sindh Province are:
I. FFC Energy Limited, 49.5 MW Wind Power Project located at Jhampir, District Thatta. This Project is AEDB, Government of Pakistan LOI holder and operational since 2013.
II. Zorlu Energy Pakistan Limited, 56.4 MW Wind Power Project located at Jhampir, District Thatta. This Project is AEDB, Government of Pakistan LOI holder and operational since 2013.
4058. *Mr. Kanwar Naveed Jamil: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it fact that work has been completed in the province under “Enlighten Sindh solar light” project;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the districts–wise details thereof?
ANSWER

No
The project “Enlighten Sindh solar light” was neither prepared nor executed by Energy Department, Government of Sindh.
4059. *Mr. Kanwar Naveed Jamil: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that corruption has been committed in Rs 8.5 billion’s “Enlighten Sindh solar light” project;
(b) If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the details thereof including action taken against involved?
ANSWER

No
The project “Enlighten Sindh solar light” was neither prepared nor executed by Energy Department, Government of Sindh.
