(a)   Is it a fact that some buildings of the departments in Karachi districts have been declared unsafe;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof;

(c)    Whether any of these buildings are protected heritage sites;

(d)   If answer to (c) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

Yes.

(b)        The following three Waqf buildings in Karachi District have been declared unsafe / dangerous:-

i

Waqf Khatija Bai Trust Building, Khori Garden Karachi.

ii.

Waqf Building attached to Jamia Masjid Qassaban, Meer Karam Ali Talpur Road, Saddar Karachi.

iii.

Waqf Raja Ghulam Nabi Trust Building Freer Road, Karachi.

(c) Yes. The two (02) buildings mentioned at serial No.i & ii above are protected heritage sites.

(d) The details are already given in (b) of the above reply.

 

 

252.     *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi:  Will the Minister for Auqf, Zakat & Ushr be pleased to state:-

 

(a)        Is it a fact that a project of consolidation/improvement and provision of missing facilities at dargah Sakhi Dad Wahi, district Nausheroferoz with cost of Rs. 12.000 million is to be completed by June, 2019;\

(b)        If answer to (a) above is affirmative, detail of work completed and amount spent?

It is fact that the scheme “Construction / improvement and provision of missing facilities at Dargah Sakhi Dad Wahi, District N/Feroze was included in ADP 2018-19  at Gen. Sr. No.49 with an approved cost of Rs. 12.881 million, the scheme completed in all respect in June 2019.

The details of works are as under:-

                    i.                        Construction of compound wall

                  ii.                        Earth fitting

                iii.                        Supplying and fixing iron gate

The procedure to sanction expenditure from donations received in shrines in Sindh and whether such donations are used solely for the upkeep of the shrine or transferred to the Government accounts?

It is submitted that no sanction expenditure were made from donations received from shrines. The donations received from the Shrines in Sindh are transferred to the Government Account No.1 Government of Sindh through Challan in State Bank of Pakistan.

 

921.     *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi:  Will the Minister for Auqf, Zakat & Ushr be pleased to state:-

 

Year-wise number of foreign pilgrims visited the shrines of Sufi saints from 2013 to 2018?

 

ANSWER

It is submitted that there is no actual figure of the foreign pilgrims visited the shrines of Sufi saints from 2013 to 2018. However in different occasions the representatives of different countries i.e. their ambassadors and other staff visited at Dargah of Sufi saints, specially, Dargah Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Clifton, Karachi, Dargah Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalander, Sehwan Sharif and Dargah Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai at Bhitshah.

 

926.     *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi:  Will the Minister for Auqf, Zakat & Ushr be pleased to state:-

 

(a)   Is it a fact that schemes for expansion, renovation and rehabilitation of Sufi shrines in order to facilitate pilgrims have been allocated during 2018-2019;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

It is a fact that the sum of Rs. 100 million were kept in the annual budget 2018-19 for expansion / renovation & rehabilitation of Sufi Shrines in order to facilitate pilgrims but the funds were not release by Finance Department hence no works could be carried out.

 

 

 

 

2847.   *Mr. Jamal-u- din Siddiqui:   Will the Minister for Auqf, Zakat & Ushr be pleased to state:-

 

(a)      Is it a fact that has Auqaf Department  recently organized a fair namely “Me Raqsam” in Hyderabad;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, expenditure incurred in this regard?

(a)     Yes it is fact.

(b)     An amount of Rs. 4,914,200/- has been incurred on account of fair and exhibition to promote the Sufism in the Sindh Province.

Amount spent from Zakat fund under the head of marriage of poor and heirless girls during 2017 to 2018?

Disbursement of Zakat funds have been made by the District Zakat & Ushr Committees after determination of Istehqaq by Local Zakat & Ushr Committees concerned.

 

An amount of Rs. 37,973,000/- spent from Zakat fund under the head of Marriage of poor and heirless girls during financial year 2017-18.

The expenditure on maintenance of the Historic Mosque at Khudabad, District Dadu from July 1, 2018 to date?

The historic Mosque at Khudabad, District Dadu is not under the administrative control of Auqaf Department, Government of Sindh.

 

6444.   *Mr. Kanwar Naveed Jamil:    Will the Minister for Auqf, Zakat & Ushr be pleased to state:-

 

            (a) Is it a fact that donation is being collected from Shrines on daily basis;

(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the name of Authority Conducting audit of the same?

 

ANSWER

No. It is not a fact. Visiting Zaireen deposit their Nazrana / donation in Nazrana boxes and the same opened on monthly basis by the committee including representative of National Bank of Pakistan concerned in the presence of Zaireens. The Chief Administrator, Auqaf, Sindh issued schedule for opening of Nazrana Boxes.

 

     It is submitted that the office of the Director General Audit, Sindh conducts the audit in every financial year.

District-wise amount of rent collected from the buildings or land property owned by Auqaf department?

Number of shrines under Auqaf Department in the province including where the Donation collected from them are spent?

There are 73 shrines in Sindh Province, which are under the administrative control of Auqaf Department, Government of Sindh. The donation from all sources deposited through challan in Account No. 1 of Government of Sindh.
