Names of rare birds/animals which are banned to hunt throughout Sindh to save their pedigree?

 

ANSWER

MR. TARIQ ALI, PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FOR WILDLIFE:

All birds and animal species are banned for hunting except partridges, quail and water fowls whose shooting is allowed only in season starting from 1st November, 2019 & ending 28th February, 2020 on payment of fees and after issue of license fixing bag limit.

 

2496.   *Ms. Sarwat Fatima:            Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

 

(a)      Is it a fact that 05 million rupees allocated in 2017-18 for re-habilitation and breeding of Hog Deer and water fowl species at Hazari Forest, Thatta;

(b)     If answer to (a) above is in the affirmative, results and amount spent?

No, it is not a fact.

No any allocations in 2017-18 was made for re-habilitation & breeding of hog deer & water fowl species at Hazari Forest Thatta.

2742.   *Ms. Rana Ansar:     Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

 

Step taken by the department to stop smuggling of rare birds abroad during last five years along with number of animal of rare pedigree saved to smuggle?

 

ANSWER

MR. TARIQ ALI, PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FOR WILDLIFE:

Step taken by department during last five years are as following:

1.      There is ban on all kind of trapping issued by Forest & Wildlife Department’s No. SO-IV (F&WL)2-23/2019 dated 11th February, 2019.

 

2.      Rescue and release in to wild:

a.       No. of birds released =35

b.      No. of reptiles released =2,655

 

 

 

2845.   *Mr. Muhammad Aslam Abro:       Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

 

District/location-wise number of wildlife sanctuaries we have in the province along with kinds of wild life animals they have?

 

ANSWER

MR. TARIQ ALI, PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FOR WILDLIFE:

There are 34 wildlife sanctuaries in Sindh.

In Sindh, as per historical records there are:

ü  Bird Species.                          322

ü  Mammal species.                   82

ü  Reptile species                        103

ü  Amphibian species.               07

The list of wildlife sanctuaries in the Province is at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

(a)    Is it a fact that ban has been imposed on hunting the green turtles to save its generation:

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the detail thereof?

There is no any concept of hunting of Green Turtle exists in law, hence the question of Ban on its hunting does not arise.

 

3686.   *Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi:      Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

 

(a)   Is it a fact  that all hunters are required to obtain a hunting permit;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the beg limit per shoot including permit fees recovered during hunting season 2018-2019?

ANSWER

Yes, for shooting partridges & ducks hunters are required to obtain hunting/ shooting permit on payment of fee.

The bag limit for each permit is 10 partridges & 15 ducks.

Following is the list of animals permitted for hunting in Shaheed Benazirabad/Nawabshah Division and rest of the province:-

Gadwall

Hunting license and observance of code of conduct is necessary for those who intend to hunt.
