Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Wednesday, the 05th August, 2020 has passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister, Sindh:
“On this day last year, the 5th of August, 2019, the Indian Government in a blatant violation of their own Constitution, which provides special status to occupied Jammu and Kashmir, illegally annexed it with India and abolished its special status.
This August House –
(i) Expresses its solidarity with the held Kashmir and Kashmiri people and strongly condemns the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces since one year in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir;
(ii) Denounces all illegal actions of Indian Government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir including rape of women and girls, detention and torture of youth, disgrace and brutal killing of Kashmiri children, women and men;
(iii) Demands that curfew imposed in the Occupied valley for more than one year be immediately lifted;
(iv) Rejects Government of India’s illegal action of annexing Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterates that Kashmiri people be given their inalienable right of self-determination through plebiscite in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution and according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir;
(v) Demands that the draconian laws be withdrawn immediately by the Government of India;
(vi) Pays rich tributes to the courage and valor displayed by the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir;
(vii) Expresses unflinching and unwavering support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for their right of self-determination;
(viii) Reaffirms that Jammu & Kashmir remains as unfinished agenda of partition and an internationally recognized dispute that continues to be on UN Agenda since 1948;
(ix) Rejects grant of domiciles to outsiders through illegal legislation passed by the Indian Lok Sabha namely Indian’s Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, aimed at altering demographic characteristics of occupied Jammu and Kashmir;
(x) Emphasises that the International Community take notice that this day of solidarity is being marked all over the world to express support to the people of Jammu & Kashmir;
(xi) Reiterates that the people of Sindh would always stand by their Kashmiri brethren.
The Provincial Assembly of Sindh unanimously extends its complete support and express solidarity with the people of Occupied Jammu & Kashmir for their dedicated struggle for independence.”
