            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

 

Yes, 100 MW Gas fired Power Plant is providing electricity through STDC 132 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line.

Name of the Power Plant is Sindh Nooriabad Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (SNPC) and Sindh Nooriabad Power Company Phase-II (Pvt.) Limited (SNPC-II), located in the vicinity of Nooriabad, Sindh.

The name of its Chief Executive Officer is Commodore Najam-ul-Hasnain SI (M)

(a)   Is it a fact that STDC transports power produced by private power plants;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, transmission rates charged, total recoveries and over-dues to date?

ANSWER

 

          MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

 

Sindh Transmission & Dispatch Company (Pvt.) Limited (STDC) transmits 100 MW electric power from Sindh Nooriabad Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (first ever PPP mode Power Plant in Pakistan, a joint venture of Government of Sindh with a private company having 49% equity of GoS and 51% equity of Private Company) to K-Electric KDA-33 Grid Station, Karachi.

Levelized Tariff as fixed payments determined by NEPRA for 25 years period is Rs. 0.3978 /kW/hour and for initial 10 years is Rs. 0.4665 /kW/hour for debt servicing purposes.

The Company has successfully started its commercial operations from January 18th, 2018 leading to a revenue stream from the wheeling of energy from Sindh Nooriabad Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (SNPC) Power Generation Complex to KDA K-Electric-33 Grid Station as per Tariff awarded by the NEPRA. Since January 18th, 2018 upto June 30th, 2019, Company has Earned Revenue of Rs. 595.718 million from wheeling charges out of which Rs. 523.010 million have been received to date and Rs. 72.707 million are outstanding.

There is no scheme or production of gas from coal.

 

2955.   *Mr. Rabistan Khan: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that villages provided electricity in each district of province during 2017-18;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof including amount spent and criteria followed?

 

           

ANSWER

 

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

 

a)  Yes 728 villages were electrified under Village Electrification Program (VEP) Sindh, during 2017-2018.

b)  Rs. 988.283 million were spent on electrification of 728 villages.

i. The criteria is based on 100 and above population.

ii. Villages having maximum distance of 4 Kms. from the existing 11 KV   transmission line.

iii. Preference is given to the villages having half kilometer distance from HT lines.
