1.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 61 OF 2019;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED IMRAN ALI SHAH, MPA: Would the Honourable Minister of Wildlife, Sindh please answer to the fact that 1,200 Kg of meat of turtles and Pangolins were stolen from the Karachi Wildlife Office. The estimated price was valued at Rs.2 million. I would like to enquire that 10 months have lapsed and has there been any progress/recovery.

2.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 62 OF 2019;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. RABIA KHATOON, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Commerce and Industries, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that measures taken to catter growing unemployment in Sindh specially in Karachi and Hyderabad.

3.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 65 OF 2019;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. ARSALAN TAJ HUSSAIN, MPA: Will the Minister for Health, Sindh may please to answer/ statement that why the Hospital at NIPA Gulshan-e-Iqbal which was added as ADP Scheme in 2009 & still not completed?

4.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 63 OF 2019;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. ADEEBA HASSAN, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Agriculture, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that why Government has not yet announced the rate of Sugarcane? and the crushing of Sugarcane is to be started soon.

5.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 66 OF 2019;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. KULSOOM AKHTAR CHANDIO, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Agriculture, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that  the name of crops that has been destroyed by the current attack of locusts in Sindh and the amount of loss occurred to the growers; steps taken by the department to control the same.

RANA ANSAR, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement regarding increasing trend of illegal and non-permitted construction of buildings in Sindh? Name of buildings declared cultural heritage in district West Karachi including steps taken for repair & maintenance during 01-01-2018 to 30-06-2018 with amount spent?

The heritage survey of 37 buildings / sites in district West Karachi has been done and the same will be notified after the approval of the Advisory Committee on Heritage. However, the responsibility of repair and maintenance of these buildings lies with the owners of the buildings.

Which initiatives taken by culture department to promote Sindh culture across Pakistan and abroad, especially in neighbor and friendly countries?

ANSWER

Various Cultural, Musical and Theater Events especially Sindhi Folk, Music, Solo Instrumental Performances have been arranged across Pakistan and in friendly countries i.e. Australia, Denmark, Canada, UK, Dubai-UAE, Egypt and Turkey, etc.

(a)   Whether there is any STDC website functional for booking online accommodation;  

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, details of travel alongwith packages to encourage tourists?

When Lakhi House Museum will be opened for the public?

All the works of Lakhi House Museum Hyderabad have been completed and is ready to open for the general public. The inauguration ceremony of Lakhi House Museum will be arranged, shortly.

Number of Historical places exist in Sindh province which are under supervision of the department?

There are 137 protected archaeological sites / monuments under the supervision of the department list is at Annexure place on the Table of the House. However, 78 more sites are under process to be declared protected in Sindh.

1545.   *Dr. Seema Zia:         Will the Minister for Culture, Tourism & Antiquities be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it fact that the Tourist Guide Regulatory Committee is to be constituted under Section 3 (1) of the Sindh Tourist Guides Act, 2011;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, reasons of delay for not constituting the Tourist Guide Regulatory Committee as of August 17, 2018?

ANSWER

SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM & ANTIQUITIES:

It is stated that after the 18^th Constitutional Amendment, the Sindh Tourist Guide Act, 2011 was passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh. In pursuance of said Act, the Directorate of Tourist Services drafted the rules but the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan challenged the same in the Honourbale High Court of Sindh at Karachi by filing Suit No. 666/2016. Therefore, the Committee could not be constituted due to sub-judice matter. However parawise comments on the said Suit No. 666/2016 have been filed by the Department through Advocate General Sindh, High Court of Sindh @ Karachi vide letter dated 03-04-2019 is at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

Number of saints in the Province who’s Urs is celebrated every year?

There are many saints in the province, of whose Urs is celebrated by Local Organization as well as Auqaf Department, every year. As far as Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department is concerned, the Urs of following saints is being celebrated every year on the dates mentioned against each:-

i)           Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai                         Bhitshah,

Yes, the Department has arranged National & International Cultural events during 2013 to 2017. The details are given as under:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Sindh government allocated some endowment fund for the preservation/conservation of heritage sites of the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the details thereof?

ANSWER

SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM & ANTIQUITIES:

The Endowment Fund Trust (EFT) for Preservation of the Heritage of Sindh was established by the Government of Sindh in August, 2008, with a capital cost of Rs. 1000 millions, it is an autonomous and non-profit organization. The same is not under the administrative control of Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department.
