211.     *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi:    Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to state:-

 

(a)   Is it fact that a project of  Programme for women empowerment through rehabilitation of rural poultry in Sindh at Karachi, Tharparkar, Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana and Jacobabad with cost of Rs.59.560 million was to be completed by June 2018;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, current status of the project and amount spend?

ANSWER

Mr. Abdul Bari Pitafi, Minister for Livestock & Fisheries:

The subject project was under execution of this Department and completed by 30th June, 2019. Originally the scheme was approved at the cost of Rs. 59.560 and was to be completed by June, 2018.

The scheme was revised at a cost of Rs. 84.428 with addition of 02 more districts i.e. Sujawal and T.M. Khan.

The scheme completed on 30.6.2019.

The activities viz. distribution of poultry birds, trainings to rural women, procurement of medicines, vitamins, vaccines, feed etc. for the birds and seminars etc. as per scope of the scheme have been completed.

Rs. 75.662 million have been utilized.

 

217.     *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi:    Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to state:-

 

(a)   Is it fact that a project of up-gradation of veterinary center at Bhan Saeedabad district Jamshoro is at purview of your department;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, cost and date of completion of the same?

 

ANSWER

Mr. Abdul Bari Pitafi, Minister for Livestock & Fisheries:

Yes, it is fact that the project of “Up-gradation of Veterinary center at Bhan Saeedabad, District Jamshoro” is in the purview of this Department.

The scheme was approved on 04.8.2017 at a total cost of Rs.5.813 million (Cap. Rs.4.813 & Rev. Rs.1.000 million) for 01 year i.e. 2017-18. But due to less releases during 2017-18, it could not completed and allowed extension for 01 year to complete the scheme by 30.6.2019. The scheme has been completed on 30.6.2019. Total utilization Rs. 5.468 million.

 

 

 

218.     *Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi:    Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to state:-

 

(a)   Is it fact that a project of construction of veterinary center at Shahpur Jahanian district SBA with cost of Rs.6.000 million was to be completed by June 2018;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, detail of work completed and amount spent?

 

ANSWER

Mr. Abdul Bari Pitafi, Minister for Livestock & Fisheries:

Yes, it is fact that the project of “Construction of Veterinary center at Shahpur Jahanian, District Shaheed Benazirabad”, with cost of Rs.6.000 million was to be completed by June 2018.

However; the same has not been started yet due to unavailability of plot.

The matter of change of location was placed before the competent forum i.e. Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) where the scheme was deferred and Admn Department was advised to scrap the scheme from ADP 2018-19.

The scheme was accordingly scrapped from ADP 2018-19.

 

 

485.     *Mr. Khurram Sher Zaman: Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to state:-

 

(a)   Is it a fact that the Department has refused to provide fodder to over 7.69 million animals during emergency situations;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 

ANSWER

Mr. Abdul Bari Pitafi, Minister for Livestock & Fisheries:

The answer to (a) is No.

Provision of fodder to animals during emergency situation is not under the domain of Livestock & Fisheries Department. However; this Department with the approval of Chief Minister Sindh initiated a fodder distribution drive through Thar Foundation with Rs. 50.000 million in 04 Union Councils.
