1100. *Mr. Omar Omari: Will the Minister for Labour be pleased to state:-
Number of new health institutes of labour department established and up-graded in every district of province during 2017-18 along with amount spent?
ANSWER
MR. SAEED GHANI, MINISTER FOR LABOUR:
Following Dispensaries/ Hospitals have been established & up-graded during, 2017-18:-
1. New Building of Madina Dispensary, Site Circle, Karachi with the cost of Rs. 8.70 Million.
2. Construction of City Dispensary, Sukkur, with the cost of Rs. 13.74 Million.
3. Construction of Nawabshah (Shaheed Benazirabad) Dispensary, with the cost of Rs. 14.33 Million.
4. 20 Badded Hospital at Site Area Sukkur with the cost of Rs. 2.27 Million (up-graded).
5. Construction of 25 Bedded Hospital at Daharki, District Ghotki with the cost of Rs. 12.50 Million (under construction).
1631. *Ms. Ghazala Siyal: Will the Minister for Labour be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that minimum salary fixed by the Government in budget 2018-19 is implementable in private sector;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, details thereof?
ANSWER
MR. SAEED GHANI, MINISTER FOR LABOUR:
Yes. As on the recommendation of Sindh Minimum Wages Board, Government of Sindh had fixed minimum rates of wages Rs. 16,200/= per month for the unskilled workers employed in various industries& commercial establishments in theProvince of Sindh during the financial year, 2018-19, which is being implemented through Labour Inspectors of Directorate of Labour, Sindh.
Labour& Human Resources Department, Government of Sindh has constituted “Minister’s Task Force” headed by the Director, Labour including all Joint Directors, Labour Leaders to ensure implementation of minimum wages.
Furthermore, all the Presidents of Industrial Zones have been advised for the implementation of the minimum wages in all Industrials Zones. Also in order to resolve the issues and grievances of Employers and Employees, Tripartite Committees is all Industrial Zones have been constituted & notified.
1771. *Ms. Rana Ansar: Will the Minister for Labour be pleased to state:-
(a)Is it a fact that minimum salary of a labourer was fixed Rs.10,000/- in budget 2018;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, how much the same is being implement in private sector/companies?
ANSWER
MR. SAEED GHANI, MINISTER FOR LABOUR:
(a) No, On the recommendation of the Sindh Minimum Wages Board, Government of Sindh had fixed the minimum rates of wages of Rs. 16,200/- per month for the unskilled workers in the Province of Sindh in the financial year, 2018-19,
(b) Inspections are carried out by the officers of Directorate of Labour to monitor the implementation of minimum wages in private sector / companies.
1863. *Ms. Adeeba Hassan: Will the Minister for Labour be pleased to state:-
Amount of funds collected by SESSI during 2014-15 and 2015-16?
ANSWER
MR. SAEED GHANI, MINISTER FOR LABOUR:
Funds amounting to Rs.3061.691 Million have been collected during the financial year, 2014-2015.
Funds amounting to Rs.3449.041 Million have been collected during the financial year, 2015-2016.
2071. *Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi: Will the Minister for Labour be pleased to state:-
(a) Whether the Government has any plan to provide benefits of SESSI coverage to Hari’s and other form of labours;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
MR. SAEED GHANI, MINISTER FOR LABOUR:
(a) Yes
(b) Government has plan to extend Social Security coverage to all the workers including Haris and in this regard scheme i.e Universalization of Social Security is in process.
