SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM & ANTIQUITIES:
Sindhi films were being made by the private production houses, and about 77 films were made till 1997.
Umar Marvi was the first Sindhi film made in 1956 and Himth was 77th Sindhi Film, which proved to be the last one, since then no Sindhi film has been seen on the Silver Screen of Cinemas.
The reasons behind the exhaust of Sindhi films may be the decline of the cinema houses, which were replaced with big shopping malls and multi-story buildings.
About 51 Sindhi Theater dramas have been arranged by the Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department, Government of Sindh.

ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR CULTURE, TOURISM & ANTIQUITIES:
The music instrument Algoza is not disappearing, as there are many artists who play the Algoza. Besides, there are also many students who are learning the same. However, only few artists of Sarangi are left.
The major reason of disappearing various traditional instruments i.e. Sarangi, Borrendo, Kamach, Sittar, Chang, Surrundo, etc is due to lack of training institutes.
Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department has been taking efforts to promote the art of playing traditional instruments by providing them opportunities to perform in various cultural events / festivals. Moreover, the Department has also established “Sindh Institute of Music and Performing Arts (SIMPA) at Jamshoro” for revival and safeguarding various forms of music and performing arts.
