(a) Is it a fact that teachers are being posted as ADO’s in violation of rules;
(b) If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the reasons thereof?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION:
There is no violation of rules. The post of ADO has been re-designated as Taluka Education Officer (TEO). As per rules, no any teacher has been posted as TEO.
Moreover, the post of TEO is being filled by posting of either Head Masters (BPS-17) or Cadre Officers (BPS-17).

District-wise number of schools has been outsourced to education organizations through Public Private Partnership Program (PPP) in the last 10 years?
ANSWER

(a) Whether there is any regulatory body/commission for private schools on the lines of Higher Education commission;
(b) If answer to (a) above is in affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION:
The Privately managed institutions in Sindh are registered under “ The Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulation & control) Ordinance 2001, Amended Act, 2003 and Rules 2005” The Directorate General of Inspection & Registration of Private Institutions acts as the regulatory body for Private Schools in the Province.
*593. Ms. Rabia Azfar Nizami: Will the Minister for Education be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that a national curriculum proposed in 2006-07 and text books were to be developed according to it but only a few books developed in Sindh;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, timeline to have new text books in a market as per revised curriculum pending since 2013?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION:
a) After 18th Constitutional Amendment, powers were delegated to the province to review/ develop their own curriculum. In this regard, Curriculum and all related activities were entrusted to the province of Sindh. The Directorate of Curriculum, Assessment & Research (defunct Bureau of Curriculum and Extension Wing(BCEW) revised National Curriculum 2006-07 in light of contextualized needs and assured the quality of new books on updated / revised curriculum for improvement of quality of education.
In this regarding DCAR has planned and completed review of the curriculum in following four phases:
In First Phase: - Grade I-V Completed in June, 2012
In Second Phase: - Grade VI-VIII Completed in December, 2014
In Third Phase: - Grade IX-X Completed in May, 2017
In Fourth Phase: - Grade XI-XII, will be completed within this Year, 2018.
(b) The Sindh Textbook Board developed new Textbooks on reviewed Curriculum 2006-07 for Grade I-VIII and distributed in all public sector schools and are also available in the market as well.
Further, Textbooks for Grade IX-X are under development process, hopefully will be completed by the end of this academic year.
As the Curriculum 2006 from Grade XI-XII is under revision and will be handed over to Sindh Textbook Board upto March, 2019, then process of development of new textbooks will be carried out and most probably will be completed during academic year, 2019-20.
*744. Mr. Khurram Sher Zaman: Will the Minister for Education be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that department could not activate Bibi Asifa Government Girls Degree Science College even after one and a half year and it has now become a parking lot;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION:
BiBi Asifa Govt. Girls Degree College has been functioning since the academic year
2017-18.
*750. Mr. Khurram Sher Zaman: Will the Minister for Education be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that Government Girls Degree College, Katti Pahari is functioning under only one lady teacher as a single caretaker since 2008;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION:
The college at the Katti Pahari is fully functional having a requisite faculty as per enrolment.
*761. Mr. Khurram Sher Zaman: Will the Minister for Education be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that there are around 52,572 students in 32 public colleges in Karachi but there is shortage of furniture only 9800 chairs and desks are available;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?
ANSWER
SYED SARDAR ALI SHAH, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION:
There is no shortage of furniture in any college of Karachi. The Government is taking efforts to provide furniture to the newly constructed colleges as per requirement after observing the formalities of SPPRA. However arrangements have been made to provide furniture to run the academic activities.
