HALEEM ADIL SHEIKH, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Irrigation, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that the monopoly of Land Lords and Irrigation Department who blockade the flow of water to Sohrab Miner, Khai Miner and Siddki Miner of Pithoro areas of Umerkot District resultantly the water can’t reached to the tail and small farmers are devastated?

5.   CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 47 OF 2019;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. RABIA KHATOON, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Fisheries, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that on the Coastline of Thatta from Bhanbhore to Arthurki, Fishermen are not allowed to catch fish by the influential persons. If any fisherman goes there for fishing, the armed personnel of influential persons beat them. What steps are taken by the Government to control this violence?

*04.     Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

Number of licensed coal mines in Province as on 30/09/2018 alongwith production of coal from same during 01/01/2018 to 30/09/2018 as well as number of people employed by above?

ANSWER

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

There are 207 total number of licensed coal mines in the Province as on 30.09.2018. The production of Coal during the period from 01-01-2018 to 30-09-2018 is 822444 M.Tons. The total number of employees are 7129.

The composition of the Sindh Coal Authority and it’s regularly relationship with the Thar Coal Projects?

ANSWER

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

Sindh Coal Authority was established under the Sindh Coal Authority Act, 1993 (Amendment 2017). It is governed by the Board constituted under section-7 of Sindh Coal Authority Act, 1993 (Amendment 2017) as follows:

i.                 Minister for Energy                              Chairman

ii.               Chairman Planning &                           Official Member

 Development Board              

iii.             Secretary Finance                                Official  Member      

iv.             Secretary Energy                                 Official Member

v.               Four Members of Provincial                 Official Member

Assembly nominated by

Appointed by Government.

 

Relationship with Thar Coal Projects

After execution of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Investor(s), the leverage of Sindh Coal Authority goes to the extent of pre-feasibility. After the approval of pre-feasibility by Technical Committee, recommendations are made to the directorate of Coal Mines Development for issuance of Mining Lease & License. Thereafter, Sindh Coal Authority only facilitates the investors to achieve the objectives as set with the directorate of Coal Mines Development.

 

*143.   Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

The number of reverse osmosis water plants installed in Tharparker since July 1, 2017 to-date along with location and cost of each?

ANSWER

 

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

No reverse osmosis plant has been installed since July, 2017 to date either by Sindh Coal Authority or any other wing of Energy Department.


\*923.   Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

Number of projects by which energy is being produced through wind, solar and other sources during last five years along with number of operational projects out of above?

 ANSWER

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

23 Wind power projects are operational and producing 1184.2 MW as per details attached at annexure Placed on the table of the House.

 

Only 01 (one) Solar Project of 50 MW is in operation and providing power to K-Electric.

 

All Wind and solar projects are in operation.

 

*924.   Ms. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

          Number of bio-gas electricity production stations in the province and electricity produced through same as well as steps taken for promotion of same during last five years?

 

ANSWER

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

The bio gas has not yet been utilized to produce electricity in the province. However, a pilot project of around 200 House Hold Biogas Plants (HHBP) is under preparation for Sanghar , Badin, Mirpurkhas , Shikarpur and Larkana districts to produce gas for the use of small house hold.

 

*1099. Mr. Omar Omari: Will the Minister for Energy be pleased to state:-

Grade-wise number of persons appointed in Energy department during 2017-18 including the criteria for same?

ANSWER

            MR. IMTIAZ AHMED SHAIKH, MINISTER FOR ENERGY:

10 (ten) applicants were appointed under Deceased Quota policy notified by SGA&CD notification No.SORI(S&GAD)2-3/02 dated 30-07-2011. Details are as under:
