KHAWAJA-IZHAR-UL HASSAN, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that an illegal gravel and sand point has been developed at New Karachi 5-D area which disturbs traffic flow and on the other side passers of area especially women suffer a lot; action taken by the Local Government Minister in this regard

“This House resolves and recommends to the Government of Sindh to approach Federal Government to take notice of violation of Article 158 of the Constitution by the Federal Ministry. Due to the shortage of Gas the domestic as well as commercial consumers are facing a lot of difficulties in the Province of Sindh.”.

*119.   Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi:        Will the Minister for Finance be pleased to state:-

               (a)    Is it a fact that Sindh Government is currently running an overdraft with SBP;

               (b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, amount outstanding and markup paid in 2018? 

                                                                         ANSWER

 SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR FINANCE:

The Sindh Government is not running overdraft with State Bank of Pakistan currently.

*284.   Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi:        Will the Minister for Finance be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Sindh Bank is to offer shares in a merger to the owners of Summit Bank;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, number of shares offered alongwith name of allottees?

ANSWER

 SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR FINANCE:

The merger of Summit Bank Limited into Sindh Bank Limited has been decided by the Cabinet in its meeting dated 30^th December 2017. The swap ratio and modalities are in the process of being determined for consideration by the Cabinet.

*285.   Mr. Arif Mustafa Jatoi:        Will the Minister for Finance be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Sindh Bank is to be merged with Summit Bank;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR FINANCE:

The answer to (a) is in negative. In fact Sindh Bank is not being merged with Summit Bank, rather there is a proposal that Summit Bank be merged with and into Sindh Bank, which will stay as surviving entity. This is under process and will materialize after approval of Sindh Cabinet, Supreme Court of Pakistan and the State Bank of Pakistan.

*936.   Ms. NusratSeharAbbasi: - Will the Minister for Finance be pleased to state:-

Number of employees, grade, domicile and place of posting of employees working in Sindh Revenue Board?

*1059. Ms. NusratSeharAbbasi: - Will the Minister for Finance be pleased to state:-

(a) Is it a fact that government intend to initiate Cash Transfer Programme for lower income groups;

(b)  If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

ANSWER

 SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR FINANCE:

A budgetary provision of Rs. 4.200 billion has been kept in Budget Estimate-2018-19 under the head of account “SC21108-Grants and Subventions-042602-Subsidy Others-A05120 Others-005-Others-Un-conditional Cash Transfer for Poverty Alleviation” which will be released as per policy of Government of Sindh.
