*2050. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Sports be pleased to state:-

District-wise number of cricket and hockey grounds established in the province during 2010 to 2012?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister), Minister for Sports:

It is submitted that during the year 2010 to 2012 not even a single cricket Ground/Cricket Stadium was developed in terms of completion by the Sports & Youth Affairs Department. As far as Hockey Grounds are concerned none was completed during 2010-2012. However following hockey grounds have been completed during 2013-14:

1.    Synthetic Hockey Turf at NNG Ground North Nazimabad.

2.    Synthetic Hockey Ground within the premises of M.A. Khuhro Complex, Larkana.

3.    Synthetic Hockey Ground Sukkur.

 During Current Financial Year 2015-16:

1.    During current financial year Blue Hockey Turf at hockey club of Pakistan have been completed almost seven months ahead of scheduled completion. This scheme was formally inaugurated on 25th of December. National Hockey Championship has been played on this ground.

2.    During Current Financial Year grassy cricket ground at Thari Mir Wah is expected to be completed in April, 2016.

 Following Hockey grounds are under different phases of implementation:

1.    Laying of Synthetic Hockey Turf at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Sports Complex Mirpurkhas.

2.    Khalid Bin Waleed P.E.C.H.S, Karachi.

 Following Hockey/Cricket Stadiums/Grounds have been included in the ADP of 2015-2016 (current financial year):

1.    Nawabshah Hockey Synthetic Turf

2.    Dadu Hockey Synthetic Turf

3.    Khairpur Mirs Hockey Synthetic Turf

4.    Construction of Grassy Cricket Ground at Tharo Mengal Gaddap Town, Karachi.

 *2156. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that 16 acres land of Lal Bagh at Sehwan Sharif has been occupied by land mafia through fake documents;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the action taken against them?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister), Minister for Auqaf:

(a)      In fact 32 Acres land was allotted to Auqaf Department by the Revenue Department Government of Sindh in the year 1991 for the beautification of Lal Bagh, but the possession of land has not been handed over to Auqaf Department as yet and such correspondence already made to the concerned local administration for physical possession of land.

(b)      Since physical possession of the land has not yet been handed over to Auqaf Department, the matter is under correspondence with Local Administration for ensuring possession of the allotted land.

 *3675. MS. KHAIRUNNISA MUGHAL: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

(a)   Whether any plan is in consideration to provide facilities of pure drinking water, rest houses and lavatories to pilgrims from departmental budget at historical shrines;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

ANSWER

(a)      Auqaf Department already providing facilities of pure drinking water, rest houses and lavatories to pilgrims from departmental budget at following main historical shrines.

1.    Dargah Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalander.

2.    Dargah Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

3.    Dargah Hazrat Sachal Sarmast.

4.    Dargah Hazrat Saeedi Moosani.

5.    Dargah Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

6.    Dargah Hazrat Shah Yakeek.

However efforts are being made to improve them.

(b)      As it “a” above.

 *3676. MS. KHAIRUNNISA MUGHAL: Will the Minister for Auqaf be pleased to state:-

(a)   Whether the land of the department can be allotted or leased to common men;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, criteria for the same?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister), Minister for Auqaf:

(a)      Yes.

(b)      The Department of Auqaf allots or lease out Waqf land to common men in accordance with the Section 7 (a) of Waqf Property (Administration) Rules, 1960.

 *3733. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Sports be pleased to state:-

Number of members of Khairpur and Sukkur gymkhana along with facilities provided to the players in the same?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister), Minister for Sports:

This Department as such has nothing to do with these two specific Gymkhanas, however, this Department has collected following information from quarter concerned.

As far as Khairpur and Sukkur Gymkhanas are concerned they operate on the model somewhat closer to public private partnership, headed by respective Deputy Commissioner. The private partnership is with public at large in terms of one time admission fees and regular monthly subscription.

In case of Sukkur Gymkhana in all there are 300 (Three Hundred) members including women members. Following facilities are available to members and players alike:

1.    Gym

2.    Two Tennis Courts

3.    One Badminton Hall

4.    One Squash Court

5.    Two rooms for Snooker and Table Tennis

6.    One Swimming Pool

7.    Walking Track

8.    Big Lush Green Lawn

 In case of Khairpur Gymkhana there are 302 (Three Hundred and Two) male members of male Gymkhana and 92 (Ninety Two) ladies members of Ladies Gymkhana. There are two separate Gymkhanas available in Khairpur in one place one for males and other for females. However, the facilities provide there in are similar.

 Following facilities are available to members and players alike:

1.    Badminton

2.    Table Tennis

3.    Squash

4.    Long Tennis

5.    Judo Karate

6.    Swimming Pool

7.    Gym

8.    Billiard

9.    Rooms for Accommodation

10. Dinning

11. Seminar/Conferences/Meeting Halls

12. Lush Green Lawn

13. Car Parking

Number of gymkhanas exist in Sindh along with facilities provided to the players therein as well as name/number of coaches in Sindh?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister), Minister for Sports:

The Gymkhana are not in the purview of Sports & Youth Affairs Department. Most of Gymkhanas are private entities or semi-private entities with almost no role of Sindh Government, Different facilities are available in different Gymkhanas.

Hyderabad Sports Club, Thatta Club and Mirpurkhas club by facilities and functions closer to Gymkhanas are owned and monitored by Sports Department.

Hyderabad Sports Club is fully functional with following facilities:

1.    Multipurpose Hall

2.    Multipurpose Ground

3.    Athletics Track

4.    Swimming Pool

5.    Table Tennis

6.    Badminton

7.    Gym

 By the end of June 2016 Mirpurkhas club will be fully functional with following facilities:

1.    Players Hostel with the capacity to accommodate 84 players & officials.

2.    Gym

3.    Volleyball

4.    Basketball

5.    Table Tennis

6.    Badminton

7.    Body Building

8.    Athletics

9.    Tennis

10. Etc etc

 By the end of June 2016 Thatta club will be fully functional with following facilities:-

1.    Multipurpose Hall

2.    Multipurpose Ground
