RANA ANSAR, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Home, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that the sad incident occurred in a Police Station of Taluka Digri, Mirpurkhas where a 20 year girl subjected to gang rape; What action has been taken against such Police Station?

2.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 44 OF 2016;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. NAND KUMAR, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Health, Sindh may please to give answer / statement that due to carelessness of a doctor in Pangrio a girl namely, Naema Khaskheli lost her both hands and feet. Do Government intend to take action against the doctor involved and compensate the girl?

3.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 36 OF 2016;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED AMIR HYDER SHAH SHEERAZI, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Works & Services, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that the road from village Ghulamullah to Mirpur Sakro is in very deplorable condition; When it will got repair?

4.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 43 OF 2016;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED AWAIS QADIR SHAH, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Revenue, Sindh may please to give answer / statement that the Revenue Officers in Sukkur are manipulating the revenue records; What action has been taken against the involved officers and the steps taken to curtail this matter?

5.  CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 14 OF 2016;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Wildlife, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that the Khirthar National Park is in ruin condition; steps taken by the Government in this regard?

V.       PRIVILEGE MOTION NO. 04 OF 2016;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN, MPA REGARDING THERE IS SEVERE SHORTAGE OF WATER IN THE MOVER’S CONSTITUENCY. IN THIS REGARD, THE MOVER HAD BEEN TRYING TO APPROACH DIFFERENT KW&SB REPRESENTATIVES INCLUDING MD, KW&SB AND SUB-ENGINEER WTM BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE CONTINUOUSLY IGNORING THE MOVER’S REQUEST.

Steps taken to curb the cultivation of hemp?

 *1050. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

Yearly usage of pesticide spray/medicines in agriculture sector?

 ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

The yearly usage of pesticide sprayed/medicines is 1053,000 in Kg/liters.

District-wise names and addresses of Sugar Mills exist in the province?

 *1231. MS. BILQUEES MUKHTAR: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

District-wise number, name, address and qualification of Field Assistants appointed in the department during 2012-13?

 ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

No any field Assistant has been appointed in Agriculture Department during 2012-13.

 *2320. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

Taluka-wise number of agriculture field officers/filed assistants working in each district of the province along with their performance?

 ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

The Field Assistants are contacting with the growers of their jurisdiction and give them advice on crop cultivation. Providing literature to the Growers/Farmers for latest information regarding the crops and crops related technologies.

The Agriculture Officers are supervising the work of Field Assistants and help/guide the Growers/Farmers regarding cultivation of different Crops.

 *2321. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

Details/number of Chairman, Administrators and members of Market Committee of district Karachi?

ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

The Market Committee Karachi had not been constituted by the Government of Sindh under Section 8 read with Rule-8 of Agriculture Produce Market Act 1939 & Rules 1940. Hence, Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Bhutto is appointed as an Administrator, Market Committee, Karachi under Section 25-A of said Act and he is exercising the functions and powers of Market Committee Karachi since 30-03-2016.

*2879. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that agriculture is the only source of income of the majority people of rural areas;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reforms being enforced by the Government for agriculture development to provide job opportunities to the people along with concessions being provided to them?

 ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

(a)      Yes. Agriculture is the main source of income and main stay of our economy about 60% population living in the rural areas is directly or indirectly linked with agriculture for their livelihood.

(b)      To improve the agricultural productivity and to facilitate the farming community the main strategy is to promote Mechanized farming, modernization of Agriculture Research improved Agriculture Extension services and Water Management.

Capacity building of farming community, strengthening of Public Sector Institutions and value addition for fruits to enhance export of surplus.

Agriculture Department is already providing Agricultural implements and machinery on 50% subsidized rates to farmers. Incentive on purchase of Tractor has also been provided to farmers.

With the assistance of World Bank two Projects i.e. Sindh Agriculture Growth Project and Sindh Irrigated Agriculture Productivity Enhancement Project have been approved and are being implemented from 2014-15, so far job opportunities Agriculture Department is not directly involved in creating job opportunities, however, under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Program 4,116 person (jobless youth) were trained in different field of agriculture.

*3248. DR. SOHRAB KHAN SARKI: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

Number of bulldozers presently at Sindh Government as well as number of same actually required for the province?

 ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

At present 196 Nos. bulldozers are available with Agriculture Department.

Agriculture Engineering Wing of this Department is designed to maintain a fleet of 360 Bulldozers in Sindh.

In order to maintain fleet of 360 bulldozers, 255 new bulldozers are required.
