Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Monday, the 11th April, 2016 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Senior Minister for Education & Literacy and Parliamentary Affairs, Sindh and Dr. Sikander Mandhro, Minister for Environment and Coastal Development Authority, Sindh:-
“This Assembly resolves to commemorate the glorious day of National Pride-the 12th April, 1973 when the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan was assented to by President of Pakistan.
This House pays tribute to late Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and other Parliamentarians of that time for giving the Nation a Constitution unanimously passed in the history of Pakistan.
The Assembly recommends that the Building of this august House-The Provincial Assembly of Sindh be illuminated on 11th and 12th April, 2016 to sensitize the Public to this auspicious occasion in befitting manner.”.

*1951. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Culture be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that the condition of tomb of Ghulam Shah Kalhoro at Hyderabad is deteriorated;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the steps so far taken by the department to look after the same?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister), Minister for Culture:
(a) Heavy rains of 2011 partially damaged the monument.
(b) The Department in order to save the monument approached Endowment Fund Trust and convinced them for its conservation. Resultantly the conservation work at the tomb is being carried out vigorously by the “Endowment Fund Trust”.
*2228. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Culture be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that 3 lac sq. yard land of Moen-jo-Daro has been occupied by National Highway Authority;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the steps taken in this regard?
ANSWER

It is not true. No any piece of land of Mohenjo-Daro has been occupied by National Highway Authority.
*2230. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Culture be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that archeological site Makli Graveyard has no facility of water and electricity since long;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, steps taken by the department in this regard?
ANSWER

(a) It is a fact that the water supply to Hill Monuments has been stopped since 2008 due to unknown reasons. The facility of electricity is available at the site.
(b) Presently Department is procuring water through tankers. Besides, the Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department, Government of Sindh has got approved an ADP scheme “Protection, Preservation, Promotion and Development of World Heritage Site of Makli Hill Monument, Thatta” with a total cost of 471.882 million where in provision of water supply has been included in PC-I which will be provided during the execution of scheme in near future.
*2555. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Culture be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that historical Khudabad mosque in district Dadu is extremely in deplorable condition;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, efforts made by the department to improve its condition?
ANSWER

(a) Historical Khudabad mosque in district Dadu was previously in extremely in deplorable condition before 2009-2011.
(b)(i) Recently under a development scheme namely “Preservation/Restoration of Khudabad Mosque District Dadu” (Estimated cost Rs. 28.895 million)
(Spent till June 2015 Rs. 26.00 million)
1. External work was done by the Works & Services Department.
2. Conservation work was carried out by the Culture Department.
(ii) During 2015-16 a new scheme of Rs. 40 (M) has also been approved for the remaining conservation work and improvement of the Masjid.
