 113.   Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-

 Is it fact that according to the report of Auditor General of Pakistan for the financial year 2014-15 irregularties of Approx 3 ½ billion have been committed in Livestock Department,    if so, who has been held responsible and action taken against such and steps taken to restrain it in future, with details?

 *1220. MR. REHAN ZAFAR: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-

Date of establishment of Sindh Poultry Vaccine Center Korangi, Karachi along with the types of vaccines so far prepared by the same till today?

 ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Livestock:

Sindh Poultry Vaccine Centre Karachi was established by the Sindh Assembly through Sindh (Poultry Vaccine Centre) Act V of 1995 under the administrative control of the Livestock & Fisheries Department, Government of Sindh for the research and prevention of diseases in Sindh Province by generation of vaccines and production of new vaccines for livestock & poultry. Currently, the Center has turned to be Pakistan’s largest vaccine production unit among the seven (07) public institutes by producing more than 250.00 million doses annually of 68 different types and combinations of vaccines.

The list of vaccines prepared by Sindh Poultry Vaccine Centre is at Annexure, placed on the table of the House.

 *2161. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Sindh Poultry Vaccine Center, Korangi is an autonomous body;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, its performance report for last five years along with quantity of vaccine produced as well as per annum income accrued from?

 ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Livestock:

(a)      Yes, the Sindh Poultry Vaccine Center, Karachi was established by the Sindh Assembly as a public institute/Center under the Livestock & Fisheries Department, Government of Sindh.

(b)      The Performance Report for last five years along with quantity of vaccines produced and per annum income is at Annexure, placed on the table of the House.

 *2688. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-

The total number of cases of Bird flu reported during the period January 2009 till December 2013?

 ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Livestock:

It is stated that with the grace of “Almighty Allah” and the efforts of Directorate of Poultry Production & Research Sindh, the Sindh and overall Pakistan is bird flu free country declared by OIE (World Animal Health Organization) since 2008 to date.

*2690. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Livestock be pleased to state:-

Total area available for cattle farms in the province?

ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Livestock:

Total area of land available for Cattle Farms in Public Sector of the Province is 8186.26 acres.

Name of the animals for whose meat licenses have been issued?

 ANSWER

MR. JAM KHAN SHORO, Minister for Livestock:

The animal for whose meat license has to be issued is the responsibility of Quarantine Department. The Quarantine Department is under the control of Animal Husbandry Commissioner Federal Ministry of Livestock Department. After implementation of 18^th Amendment the Animal Husbandry Commissioner along with Quarantine Department and with its sub offices are merged in the newly created Department known as Ministry of National Food Security Department Government of Pakistan.

Therefore, the question raised by the honorable MPA pertains to the Federal Ministry of National Food Security Department Government of Pakistan.
