Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 22nd March, 2016 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Dr. Seema Zia, MPA:-

“This House resolves that all Birth Certificate, Permanent Resident Certificate and Domicile Certificates to be computerized throughout the Province of Sindh.”.

*1779. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that wildlife sanctuary/game reserve in taluka Dokri, district Larkana consist of 10 hectares;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

ANSWER

MR. GAYAN CHAND ESSARANI, Minister for Wildlife:

Yes, The Wildlife Sanctuary “Khat Dhoro” is situated at Village Hassan Wahan, taluka Baqrani which was formerly taluka Dokri District Larkana and consists of 10.522 hectares.

 *2108. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that the issues of Peacock and Deer are being sold openly in Nagarparkar;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

MR. GAYAN CHAND ESSARANI, Minister for Wildlife:

It is not fact, however whenever these reports regarding illegal sale of Peacocks and Deers happens at Nagarparkar. The Sindh Wildlife Department takes prompt action against the offenders in accordance with the Sindh Wildlife Ordinance 1972. The following No. of cases have been registered against the offenders.

 *2936. MR. SHIRAZ WAHEED: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that the department has objected on the construction of the portion of the RBOD which passes near Haleji Lake;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

ANSWER

MR. GAYAN CHAND ESSARANI, Minister for Wildlife:

Yes. It is a fact that Sindh Wildlife Department had objected on the construction of RBOD, which has resulted in stoppage of fresh water supply to Haleji Lake, as a result of which environmental loss has occurred in the habitat of Haleji Lake.

 *2961. MR. RASHID KHILJI: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

Number of national parks existing in the province?

 ANSWER

MR. GAYAN CHAND ESSARANI, Minister for Wildlife:

There is only one national Park in the Sindh province.

 *3167. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Wildlife be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that a virus is decimating the ibex population at Khirthar National Park;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, name of the virus and number of animals affected along with steps being taken to save the remaining population?

 ANSWER

MR. GAYAN CHAND ESSARANI, Minister for Wildlife:

(a)      Yes, it is a fact that 42 Ibex were infected and died from viral disease Peste Des Petits Ruminants (PPR) at Khairthar National Park.

(b)      To strengthen precautionary measures and provide initial clinical and pathological services for the wild and domestic animals in KPAC are required. If needed, any complicated case will also be referred to the Central Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Tandojam and/or the National Veterinary Laboratory Islamabad or abroad for detailed investigation/tests and expert opinion so as to adopt appropriate remedial measures.
