 *1787. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that the government intends to provide ownership rights to the poor people living in Katchi Abadies in the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

(a)      Yes. The Government of Sindh is providing and intends to provide ownership rights to the dwellers of Katchi Abadis in the Province as per SKA Act 1987 and Amendment Act 2009.

(b)      Up till now, ownership rights to 43638 Housing units have been given in the Province of Sindh.

 *1790. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

The number and size of Katchi Abadies in Karachi which are on land not owned by the Sindh Government?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

According to the inventory of pre-85 Katchi Abadis there are 50 Katchi Abadis situated over Federal Government land having size of 876.19 acres at Annexure-I and 13 Katchi Abadis on Private land having 127 acres at Annexure-II, which are not owned by the Sindh Government.

Annexure, I and II are placed on the table of the House.

 *2242. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

District-wise number of Katchi Abadies exist in the province during 2010 to 2013?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

There are 1409 Katchi Abadi declared on the basis of cut off date of 23^rd March, 1985

District wise number of Katchi Abadis at Annexure, placed on the table of the House.

 *2247. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

Number of Katchi Abadies regularized in the province during 2010 to 2013?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

Sindh Katchi Abaid Authority (SKAA) has regularized Katchi Abadis in province during 2010 to 2013.

(a)   Is it a fact that builders are violating laws and building high rise buildings in Katchi Abadies;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof along with action taken against them?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

According to SKA Act 1987 & SKAA Regulations 1993, this Authority Regularize the possession of occupants. SKAA does not act as building control authority. It only forwards the building plan to SBCA for necessary action as per law and regulations.

Number of posts filled in Katchi Abadies department on urban quota during 01-01-2008 to 15-03-2013 along with name, post, BPS and domicile of each employee?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

The number of posts filled by Sindh Katchi Abadi department on Urban Quota during       01-01-2008 to 15-03-2013 is at Annexure, placed on the table of the House, furnishing the details of Name, Post, BPS and Domicile of each employee.

 *3198. MR. SHEIKH ABDULLAH: Will the Minister for Katchi Abadies be pleased to state:-

Name/number of Goths as have been regularized in Tapo Manghopir and Songal along with areas in acres they covered?

 ANSWER

MR. TARIQ MASOOD ARAIN, Minister for Katchi Abadies:

In Tapo Manghopir and Songal no any Goth regularized by the Sindh Katchi Abadis Authority. The Regularization of Goths/Village is purview of Board of Revenue, Sindh.
