*2208. MR. KHURRAM SHER ZAMAN: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that training centers have been established during 2011, 2012 and 2013 for skilled women to adopt modern techniques?
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:
There was no training centers for skilled women to adopt modern techniques have been established in this department. However, the question is also pertaining to Women Development Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi who is working particularly for Women.
*2232. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that scheme to establish rest houses for senior citizens was implemented during 2011-12;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the district-wise details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:
(a) No.
(b) There is no scheme was approved/implemented by the government during 2011-12.
*2233. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that the scheme to upgrade the center for physically handicapped person was under consideration of the government during 2011-13;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:
(a) Yes.
(b) The scheme was approved with a total cost of Rs. 99.980 Millions in the PDWP meeting held on 9th June 2011. Thereafter the same scheme was revised with the total cost of Rs. 130.000 Millions, but the Planning & Development Department raised some observations on this scheme. In the light of the observations the scheme again modified with a total cost of Rs. 201.864 millions and sent to the Planning & Development Department, Government of Sindh, for further necessary action.
*2234. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that work is being carried out on schemes of Darul-Amans in the province;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, district-wise details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:
(a) Yes.
(b) Three Darul Amans have been approved in Sindh:-
1. Darul Aman, Shaheed Benazirabad
2. Darul Aman, Mirpurkhas
3. Darul Aman, Jacobabad
· Darul Aman, Shaheed Benazirabad building has been completed in all respect, during the last financial year 2013-2014, with a total cost of Rs. 47.511 millions.
· Darul Aman, Jacobabad and Mirpurkhas are under construction with a total cost of Rs. 89.044 millions these would be completed in the next Financial Year 2015-2016.

(a) Is it a fact that any scheme to enhance the sources of income for poor women was allocated during 2012-13;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:
There was no new scheme to enhance the source of income for poor women allocated during 2012-2013. However, the question is also pertaining to Women Development Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi who is working particularly for Women.
*2859. DR. SIKANDAR SHORO: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-
(a) Is it a fact that some new units for children care have been established in the province with collaboration of Social Welfare department and UNICEF;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the district-wise details thereof?
ANSWER
SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:
There are no new units for Children Care established in the Province. However, 12 Child Protection Units (CPUs) has already been established in the following Districts with the technical and financial support of UNICEF.
