Summary of Proceedings

Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 07th April, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by:

MS.NUSRAT SULTANA, MPA:-
"This Assembly resolves that Fire tender Emergency Exit Routes be made in all Public as well as private high rise buildings in the Province."

MR. NAND KUMAR, MPA:-
This House appreciates the announcement of the Chief minister and Minister for Minorities Affairs to appoint 2000 police Constables from the minority to protect the minorities religious places and recommends that the Government of Sindh implement this announcement at the earliest."

MR. DEWAN CHAND CHAWLA, MPA:-
This Assembly resolves that Provincial government should propose funds for the Schemes of construction of Minorities Worship places in the Province."

Total number of sanctioned posts of lecturers in Science and Arts Colleges in the province alongwith the number of the same actually working are as on 02-06-2013?

 ANSWER

MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Education:

Total number of sanctioned posts of Lecturers in (BPS-17) in the Province are 6115 and the working strength is 5300 as on 30-03-2015.

Purely Science Colleges in the Province are 17 and Arts colleges are 05. The sanction strength of Lecturers in these colleges is 447 whereas, working strength is 369.

 *292. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Education be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that about 5000 schools are closed in the entire province up to May, 2013;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is in affirmative, the reasons thereof along with the district-wise details thereof?

 1.    More than 1300 temporary closed schools have been re-opened through NTS merit based recruitment of teachers.

2.    Under consolidation policy, 200 temporary closed have been re-opened by declaring as Campus Schools.

3.    Through Clustering policy of schools, temporary schools are being re-opened by declaring one Hub School to provide guidelines through Satellite to all these schools in a Taluka/district.

 *397. MS. NAHEED BEGUM: Will the Minister for Education be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that government had established an endowment fund worth one billion rupees for poor male/female students;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the number of deserving students benefited along with the names of institutions from where students got higher education through the fund?

NED University of Engineering & Technology Karachi offers admission Undergraduate Programmes on the basis of Sindh domicile without difference of Rural and Urban areas. However, seats are allocated separately for each Board.

(a)   Is it a fact that there was any scheme under consideration of the government to start Adult Education Centers during 2011-12;

 ANSWER

MR. NISAR AHMED KHUHRO, Senior Minister for Education:

A one year scheme i.e. “Establishment of 100 Adult Literacy Centers in Sindh” was approved from the competent forum amounting to Rs. 37.667 million during the financial year     2011-12. Funds to the tune of Rs. 10.00 million were released. Calculating the released amount 100 Adult Literacy Centres were opened in all 23 district of Sindh and the tutors were engaged for a period of 5½ months with effect from 16-01-2012.
