Summary of Proceedings

Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 3rd  March, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Irum Azeem Farooque, MPA:-

“This Assembly resolves that Provincial Government take action against the illegal construction of high-rise buildings in the Province.”


Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 3rd  March, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Muhammad Hussain Khan, MPA:-
 

“This August House resolves and recommends to the Government of Sindh to approach the Federal Government to take steps for issuance of CNICs’ from the NADRA, Orangi Town, Karachi as the people of Orangi Town are facing severe hindrance to get CNIC. Federal Government direct NADRA to issue to the people at the earliest and establish one more NADRA office for providing CNIC to the people of Orangi Township.”


Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 3rd March, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Nand Kumar, MPA:-

“The crop of Wheat is ready for harvesting and Bardanas have not yet been provided to farmers. Therefore, this Assembly resolves that Provincial Government ensure to purchase the Crop.”

District-wise number of Child Protection Units established along with the number of children there in each district?

The Social Welfare Department has established 12 Child Protection Units in Sindh. These Child Protection Units do not provide any residential care facility to the children. In case of emergency or needs CPUs provide residential care through Darul Atfal/Darul Binat & Partner Shelter Services. District wise details are as under:

The admission policy for entry into various training centers in Sindh?

Admission Policy for entry into Technical, Commercial and Vocational Institutes/Centers in Sindh are at Annexure, placed on the table of the House.

 *2862. DR. SIKANDAR SHORO: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that any scheme of enhancement of source of income of poor women has been started by the government during 2010-2013;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:

The Scheme entitled “Economic Empowerment Support to Urban/Rural Orphan Girls Women Handicapped throughout Sindh” was approved in the PDWP Meeting held on         09-06-2011 with an amount of Rs. 83.648 million out of which Rs. 58.181 million has been spent up-to 2013-14 whereby 10000 sewing machines were to be distributed among the women, girls/youth out of which 7460 machines have already been distributed and remaining 2540 sewing machines are to be distributed for which an amount of Rs. 17.681 million has been allocated in the current financial year. These sewing machines will be given to the women, youth/girls after getting three months training in sewing, cutting skill from Social Welfare Centers existing in Sindh.

 *2864. DR. SIKANDAR SHORO: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that new rest house scheme of 2010-2013 for old/senior citizen is being implemented;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED QAIM ALI SHAH JILLANI, (Chief Minister) Minister for Social Welfare:

Yes. The scheme entitled “establishment of Senior Citizen (Aram Ghar) three units in Sindh, Karachi, Hyderabad & Sukkur is included in the ADP 2014-15 with an allocation of          Rs. 250.000 million.
