Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Monday, the 16th February, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Khairunisa Mughal, MPA:-

 

“This House opposes the extension of 120 days in the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) Ordinance, 2014 by the Federal Government regarding recovery of gas levy from the gas consumers in the Country.”

(a)      No it is not a fact.

In fact, instead of government hospital this is Basic Health Unit Girhore Sharif, located in Taluka Phulladiyon, district Mirpurkhas and is working with entire satisfaction.

 The steps being taken for the cure of dengue patients are as under:

 Current Strategy

Ø  Dengue Surveillance Cells established in all District of Sindh are reporting on daily basis, to the Provincial Cell at Director General Health Service’s Office, Hyderabad and further to the Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell functioning at Civil Hospital, Karachi. The Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell develops the cumulative report on daily basis for further dissemination to all stake holders including higher authorities and media.

 Ø  One the basis of reports generated by the Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and Divisional Commissioners with the logistic support of Malaria Control Program conduct case specific Fogging/Fumigation and larvicidal activities in their respective jurisdiction. Moreover, Indoor Residual Spray (IRS) in the house of Dengue affected house and 30 houses around the Dengue patient’s house, against the Vector of the Dengue Virus is being conducted.

 Ø  Dengue Diagnostic Kits and Mega Unit Platelets are also made available for diagnosis and management of Dengue Fever & Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Cases. Mega Platelets are provided to Major Public sectors Hospitals of Sindh.

 Ø  Major Public and Private Sector Hospitals are integrated in surveillance activity for regular reporting to the Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell of Health Department.

 Ø  Treatment/Management of Dengue Cases

Ø  Measures are also taken for immediate availability of Separate Beds with Impregnated Bed Nets in medical units of major Public sector Hospitals for the Management of Dengue cases.

    Ø  Training is being provided to the Physicians for Clinical Management of Dengue cases.

   Ø  Awareness Sessions are being organized to update the Knowledge of General Public and Health Professionals, through Health Education messages (by displaying Boards/Posters /Banners and distribution of Leaf etc). Education institutes are also taken on board.

 Ø  Malaria Control Programme has provided 20 fogging machines and necessary Insecticides to the prone Districts of Sindh. Out of which 04 has been provided to the Municipal Corporation Karachi and 01 to the office of Executive District Office Karachi.

     Ø  Deputy Commissioners have directed all Assistant Commissioners and Revenue staff to visit tyre shops and areas highlighted by director medical services for larvicidal activities. They will also involve the key influential persons especially Pesh Imam Masajid in their respective jurisdiction for increasing awareness among general public.

    Ø  The Health Department, GOS has formulated “Dengue Regulation” which shall ensure the responsibility of all stake holders, community & individual and shall also make them accountable on non-reporting or late reporting of dengue cases. After promulgation of said regulation vector control measure at community places, private premises and at individual level would also be enforced. The Health Inspectors designated by all DHOs will ensure the implementation of the regulation in their respective jurisdiction.

 There is need of

Ø  Need for multi-sectoral partnership with involvement of Primary health care system at the level of Basic and Rural Health Centers.

Ø  Also need of transferring the responsibilities, capability and motivation for dengue control and prevention to the community.

 *2106. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Health be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that a program to vaccinate the children of government and private schools under hepatitis control program was launched during 2012 in the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, whether the same is being implemented?

 ANSWER

(a)   Yes, it is a fact. The Hepatitis Prevention & Control Program took an initiative for the vaccination of children of government and private schools in 2012.

(b)   Yes, the same is being implemented.
