Summary of Proceedings

Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 27th January, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Saira Shahliani, MPA:-

“This Assembly resolves that everyday lots of burning cases happens all over the Province but due to the shortage of burning centers the victims do not get the first aid treatment and face death. The Government of Sindh may take steps to open Burns Centers in all the districts of Sindh.”


Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 27th January, 2015 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Khairunisa Mughal, MPA:-

“This House resolves that Provincial Government impose ban on Dharnas in which public roads are blocked which cause problems for the people in the Province.”


Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Tuesday, the 27th January, 2015 has unanimously carried the following Motion moved by Ms. Khairunisa Mughal, MPA:-

“This House is of the opinion that Provincial Government appoint Diabetologist & Neurologist in each Taluka Headquarter Hospital in the Province and equip hospitals (all) with the facility of C.T. Scan.”

Fund allocated during 2008-13 under the head of new recruitments along with the amount so far utilized out of above?

 It may be clarified that funds allocated through SNE (Schedule of New Expenditure) to the respective Administrative Departments of Government of Sindh is merged with Regular budgetary allocation and utilized in respective Object Elements under Employees Related Expenditure and as such no separate utilization of funds cannot be determined.

 *469. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Finance be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that Sindh Bank is also working to facilitate Benazir Income Support Program;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH, Minister for Finance:

(a)      Yes, Sindh Bank is facilitating the Benazir Income Support Program since April, 2012.

(b)      Sindh Bank is one of the six designated Banks has been allocated the district of Tando Muhamamd Khan where total expected beneficiaries are more than 60,000. Till date more than 32,000 beneficiaries have been served. Sindh Bank has installed 4 ATMs in the district and 10 ATMs are available from other banks in the nearby area within same district. The ATM card provided to beneficiaries may be used to withdraw the cash from any ATM in Pakistan.

To provide this service Sindh Bank is directly connected to NADRA as well as to BISP head quarters and all activity is closely monitored by BISP.

The total amount disbursed through Sindh Bank as on 15 August, 2013 is more than       Rs. 403 million in 134, 443 transactions.

(a)   Is it a fact that Sindh Bank has provided agricultural loans to small growers through Benazir card;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the details thereof?

The Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) has been created to promote and encourage investment in agri-business Small and Medium Enterprises SMEs for multiple economic benefits and major push to the wide agri-economy.

Interest rate subsidy is extended to value addition projects in following agri-clusters;

Ø  Fisheries

Ø  Mango
