1.    Resolution No. 27; given notice of by Mr. Nand Kumar, MPA regarding a minor girl namely Anjli Meghwar, who was kidnapped from Dahrki may be recovered and handed over to her parents and culprits must be arrested and punished.

2.    Resolution No. 23; given notice of by Dr. Arshad Abdullah Vohra, MPA regarding to observe & launch the awareness programme on 24^th October as “Polio Awareness Day” at all levels in Sindh Province.

VIII.               PRIVATE MOTIONS:

1.    Motion No. 78; given notice of by Ms. Rana Ansar, MPA regarding the incidents of accidents occurred day by day due to damages of roads and deep patches at National Super Highway.

2.    Motion No. 82; given notice of by Ms. Naila Munir, MPA regarding the incidents of rape with innocent children are increasing in the Province of Sindh day by day.

3.    Motion No. 60; given notice of by Ms. Khairunisa Mughal, MPA regarding to take pragmatic steps to initiate interest free Agriculture Financing to promote agriculture sector in the Province.

*1301. MS. NAILA MUNIR: Will the Minister for Information be pleased to state:-

Number of men/women journalists alongwith number out of above registered in the province?

 ANSWER

MR. SHARJEEL INAM MEMON, Minister for Information:

Journalists are privately recruited by Print and Electronic Media. There is no provision in rules for their registration or to maintain their gender wise record with the department. However, 1475 Journalists have been issued accreditation cards by the department during this year, 2014.

 *1302. MS. NAILA MUNIR: Will the Minister for Information be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that there is any arrangement for training of new entrants journalists and to brief them about the performance of the departments of the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof alongwith the steps taken by the Government for Social Security of journalists?

 ANSWER

MR. SHARJEEL INAM MEMON, Minister for Information:

The Information Department, Government of Sindh does not recruit Journalists in the Department. However, as per Rules, the desirous candidates who intends to work in Information Department should meet the following eligibility criteria:-

1.    Age.

2.    Academic qualification of masters in Mass Communication.

3.    Domiciles/PRC.

Although there is no arrangements for pre-training of new entrants in the Information Department but post entry trainings/courses are conducted from time to time for enhancing their skills and professional abilities.

As regards Social Security to Journalists, financial assistance, medical assistance and grant-in-aid are provided to deserving Journalists and Press Clubs on need basis. The Government is also contemplating for provision of Health and Life Insurance of Journalists from the next financial year.

Amount paid to Sindhi, Urdu and English newspapers under the head of advertisements during 2008-2012?

 ANSWER

The details of payments paid to Sindhi, Urdu and English newspapers under the head of advertisement from 2008-2009 to 2011-2012 are as under:-

District-wise number of press clubs at present exist in the province along with the number of the same properly registered during 2008 to 2012?

 ANSWER

District-wise number of press clubs at present which exist in the province alongwith the number of the same properly registered during 2008 to 2012 are as under:

 The press clubs are the independent bodies, and are not registered with Information Department.
