1.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 117 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SHEIKKH ABDULLAH, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that the name of Authority to solve problems of Surjani Town, KDA Scheme-41, either Project Director KDA Scheme-41 or Administrator KMC?

2.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 123 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer / statement that there is acute shortage of water in Karachi especially in the District West and Central and the City is ruled by Hydrant Mafia, hundreds of small and big hydrants operating. Masses are bound to buy water on higher rates KWSB is bearing billions of rupees loss. Government should take action to provide the basic need to masses.

3.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 96 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED KHALID AHMED, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Home, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that kindly provide the details that out of a total numbers of Police Officers of Grade 18 and above, how many are posted out of turn as per seniority list in the Police Department, please provide District Wise detail.

4.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 100 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY DR. ZAFAR AHMED KHAN KAMALI, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Home, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that what action is being taken by Government to stop the openly selling of Manpuri, Gutka and other illegal drugs in Sindh Province particularly Mirpurkhas.

5.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 149 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. NAILA MUNIR, MPA: The Honourable Senior Minister for Education & Literacy, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that the arrangements/ steps taken to stop cheating in the forthcoming Annual Examination of HSC starting from April 22, 2014 in Sindh alongwith detail.

V.       PRIVILEGE MOTION NO. 06 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. KHURRUM SHER ZAMAN, MPA REGARDING HONOURABLE MEMBER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, CHIEF (TAMEER-E-PAKISTAN PROGRAMME) ON 18^TH NOVEMBER, 2013 STATING  THAT GOVERNMENT HAS APPROVED 40 MILLION FOR DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES FOR HIS CONSTITUENCY. WHEN ALL THE PROCEDURE GOT COMPLETED THE CONCERNED DEPARTMENT IS TELLING THE HONOURABLE MEMBER THAT THEY DON’T HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE.

Summary of Proceedings

RESOLUTION MOVED BY MR. SHARJEEL INAM MEMON, MINISTER FOR INFORMATION, SINDH.

This House strongly condemns the brutal and cowardly attack on renowned journalist HAMID MIR and profoundly appreciates his services towards Journalism and Democracy. This House also prays for his early recovery.

RESOLUTION MOVED BY SYED SARDAR AHMED, MPA.

It is universally accepted that the Fourth Estate, comprising, Print, Electronic and Social Media, exercises immense Political and Social Power in shaping the will of the people and influencing the outcome of votes all over the World. The Constitution of Pakistan too guarantees its citizens freedom of speech and expression and freedom to the Press.

Unfortunately, a ghastly attempt to kill Hamid Mir a renowned journalist and anchorperson, on 19^th April in broad day light, on a busy road, has not only posed a serious threat to the freedom of expression and press, but also jeopardizes the sustenance of Parliamentary Democracy. This house thus condemns the dastardly attack on HAMID MIR who is struggling for his life in a private hospital; demands immediate arrest of the culprits and prays for his early recovery.

Number, name and domicile of the persons appointed in Day Care Center, Karachi and Sales and Display Resource Center, Karachi?

Day Care Centre at Karachi.

District and designation-wise jobs provided to the women in the women development department during 2011-2012?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Women Development:

Following women are appointed in the Women Development Department during 2011-12.

(a)   Is it a fact that planning has been made to establish women hostels in 23 districts of the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the amount to be incurred along with the date of its starting/completion?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Women Development:

There is no such planning for establishment of women hostels in 23 Districts by Women Development Department.

 *1595. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Women Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that a program to establish two Ladies Civic Centers was continue in               ADP 2012-13;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the present position of the same?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Women Development:

Yes, the program to establish two Ladies Civic Centres was part of the ADP 2012-13.         An amount of Rs. 52.755 million.

This Department moved the Deputy Commissioner, Larkana for identification of land. Mukhtiarkar under the orders of the D.C identified the land, located adjacent to Naudero Rest House main road. Women Development Department intended to move a summary for Chief Minister Sindh for approval for the allotment, but in the meantime Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan, imposed a ban on transfer/grant of Government land for what so ever purpose. Since, then the matter is pending.

 *1596. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Women Development be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that women development complexes are being constructed in Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Women Development:

Yes, the ADP scheme “Establishment of women development complex at Sukkur” was approved at a cost of Rs. 210.30 million. The Finance Department issued Administrative Approval amounting to Rs. 210.3 million duly authenticated dated 28^th February, 2012 wherein Capital Cost was Rs. 189.21 million and Revenue Rs. 21.089 million for the year 2011-12 and 2012-13.

A committee has been constituted for procurement of land as per PC-I of the Project under competitive process in compliance of SPRA rules vide Notification dated 20-02-2014. There are no schemes of Women Complex at Mirpurkhas and Larkana.
