This is the Second time I have brought this issue to our August House but unfortunately KWSB has not taken any steps to solve, kindly explain why?

 

3.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 59 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY KHAWAJA IZHAR UL HASSAN, MPA: The Honourable Senior Minister for Education & Literacy, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that it is reported that Government of Sindh is not taking any interest in the establishment of new colleges in Karachi. Kindly provide the list of new colleges are under construction in Sindh District wise and request from the Minister on it.

 

4.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 60 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY DR. SEEMA ZIA, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Health, Sindh may please to give answer/ statement that this is to bring under the notice of the Health Ministry that the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases is facing huge financial constrains. Why the Provincial Government is unable to give the institute it’s due budgetary allocation after being devolved to the Province since July, 2011.

 

5.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 72 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY ENGINEER SABIR HUSSAIN KAIMKHANI, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Health may please to give answer/ statement that let this House know, that how many mobile dispensaries are owned with the Government of Sindh and how many field Hospitals may be established in emergency to protect deaths and why these dispensaries and field Hospitals not utilized during drought of Tharparkar.

Summary of Proceedings

Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Monday, the 7th April, 2014 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Sharmila Sahebah Farooqi, MPA/ Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Culture, Ms. Parveen Aziz Junejo, MPA and Ms. Saniya, MPA:-

“This Assembly strongly recommends to the Federal Government to secure the safe release of Professor Ajmal Khan, Ali Haider Gillani, Shahbaz Taseer and other innocent captives in the custody of the Taliban in the ongoing negotiations between the Taliban and the Government. It has been stated by the Federal Interior Minister that 19 Taliban prisoners have been released till now and 13 more are being considered to be released as a ‘goodwill gesture’ to help the ongoing peace dialogue. Therefore, the Federal Government negotiating Committee should ensure that this gesture is reciprocated by the Taliban.”

RESOLUTION MOVED BY MS. SANIYA, MPA.

“This Assembly congratulates the courage and hard work of the Pakistan Street Children Football Team for winning Third Poistion and Bronze Medal in the World Cup in Brazil. The Government of Sindh should continue support to these children in future.”

 

RESOLUTION MOVED BY MS. IRUM AZEEM FAROOQUE, MPA.

“This House congratulates Pakistani Team, who played brilliantly in the Tournament of the Street Child Football World Cup (SCWC) and secured third position. These Children have overcome the life of being homeless exposed to violence, drugs and petty crimes before taking part in the street Child World Cup. This is the first step to bring them off the streets to a normal life. The Kids are Role Model to the rest of children on the streets, who if trained who can be useful citizens of Pakistan. This is not only a triumph on the Football field for Pakistani Nation but also for the street children of Pakistan all over the country.”

 

 

RESOLUTION MOVED BY MR. KHURRUM SHER ZAMAN, MPA.

“This House pays tribute to Pakistan Football Team who played well and gave tremendous performance in Tournament of the Street Child Football World Cup and have secured third Position.”

“This House condemns the decision of National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the Electricity Tariff for Karachi Electric Consumers upto 70%. Keeping in view that fact the rates of Diesel and Petrol have been decreased in the Local Market and USA Dollars rates have also been decreased through which we are buying furnace oil to generate thermal power. There is no justification to put unnecessary burden on the people of Karachi who are already under lot of pressure due to Inflation, Poverty and as well as due to over billing. This House resolves and recommends to the Government of Sindh to approach the Federal Government of Pakistan to instruct NEPRA not to increase Electricity Tariff.”

“This House condemns the decision of Federal Ministry of Water and Power to reduce electricity of Karachi upto 350 MW, Which will cause increase in Load-shedding and will badly affect the commercial as well as residential sectors in Karachi, which is a revenue hub and generates revenue upto 70% for the country.”



Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Monday, the 7th April, 2014 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Muhammad Dilawar Qureshi, MPA, Engineer Sabir Hussain Kaimkhani, MPA and Mr. Muhammad Rashid Khilji, MPA:-

“This House resolves that the Provincial Government should approach the Federal Government of Pakistan and urge them not to close the sales office of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) situated in Hyderabad. The closure of sales office shall create the hardships and difficulties for the masses of Hyderabad including the surrounding areas, and shall result further deterioration of PIA.”

Stage of completion of institution established for the rehabilitation of street children at Korangi No.5 Karachi under Social Welfare Department including the expenditure incurred and capacity of children in the same?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Social Welfare:

The scheme of the rehabilitation of street children was initiated in the year 2011-12. However, now the name of the scheme has been changed as strengthening of Darul Atfal and rehabilitation of street children through Civil Society Organization, Korangi No. 5 Karachi, ADP No. 1580, year 2013-2014, of which:

 Ø  Total Cost of    Rs. 314.540 (M)

Ø  Capital cost      Rs. 106.540 (M)

Ø  Revenue cost    Rs. 208.000 (M)

 Total amount Rs. 75.651 (M) has been released and the work plan scheme will be completed in the year 2015-16.

 Capacity of children is 300 (200 Boys + 100 Girls).

District-wise location of community centers established under Social Welfare department along with the number of new centers to be established in future?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Social Welfare:

Presently, there are two Community Centers have been established by the Social Welfare Department, one in Thatta and the other in Karachi at Shanti Nagar New Community Centers are not in pipeline for established in future.

Year in which the program to construct Dar-ul-Aman in Mirpurkhas and Jacobabad started and when the same is likely to be completed?

 ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Social Welfare:

The scheme was approved in P.D.W.P. meeting held on 5th May 2011 at a total cost of        Rs. 89.044 million for construction of Darul Aman in Mirpurkhas and Jacobabad.

 Capital      =     69.940 (M)

Revenue   =     19.104 (M)

 The construction work has already been started during the year 2012-13 and the scheme likely to be completed in next year 2014-15.

 *1591. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Social Welfare be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that there is any program to construct rest houses for aged persons in Karachi;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, how much the same has been implemented?

ANSWER

MS. RUBINA QAIMKHANI, Minister for Social Welfare:

At present, there is no any scheme/project for construction of rest houses for aged persons in Karachi.

(a)   Is it a fact that any scheme has been started for street children in Larkana and Mirpurkhas;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER
