KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Home may please to give the answer/ statement that the action against Taliban Terrorists is ongoing in Waziristan. It has been observed that in the past a large number of terrorists’ alongwith the people migrated to Sindh. To prevent entry of the Terrorists nowadays, the steps taken by the Government to ensure no entry of the said terrorists?

2.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 11 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. NAILA MUNIR, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Health may please to give the answer / statement that what precautions were taken to save the children of Thar and how many children have been died during draught. How much Budget was allocated for Medicines and what Medical Facilities were provided to the sick children of Tharparkar between November, 2013 and March, 2014.

3.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 06 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. MUHAMMAD MOIN AAMIR PIRZADA, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Food may please to give the answer/ statement that 28500 bags of expired Wheat have been auctioned in Shikarpur at the price of Rs. 22.28 per Kg.

4.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 14 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MR. JAMAL AHMED, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Health may please to give the answer/ statement that the Fumigation Spray being carried out in various areas of Karachi, has less quantity of Medicine and a major portion of Spray consisting on Diesel which is a main cause of production of Mosquitoes.

5.    CALL ATTENTION NOTICE NO. 19 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. SORATH, MPA: The Honourable Minister for Relief be pleased to reply/ give statement that the month during which draught  in Thar is announced as well as Procedure to distribute Wheat there.

V.       PRIVILEGE MOTION NO. 01 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY MS. KHAIRUNISA MUGHAL, MPA REGARDING DIRECTOR EDUCATION MIRPURKHAS DIDN’T ATTEND PHONE CALLS OF HONOURABLE MEMBER INSPITE OF SEVERAL TEXT MESSAGES WERE LEFT ON HIS CELL PHONE.

VI.     ADJOURNMENT MOTION NO. 02 OF 2014;GIVEN NOTICE OF BY SYED KHALID AHMED, MPA REGARDING TO DISCUSS A DEFINITE MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE THAT ON WEDNESDAY, THE 12TH MARCH, 2014, 16 PEOPLE INCLUDING WOMEN AND CHILDREN WERE KILLED AND DOZENS WERE INJURED IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF LYARI DUE TO BOMB ATTACKS AND FIRING INCIDENTS.

VII.     ANNOUNCEMENT OF ASSENT TO BILL:

             Mr. Speaker announces that the Honourable Governor of Sindh has given assent to the following Bill:-                     

           The NIBD Post Graduate Institute of Life Sciences Bill, 2014.

Summary of Proceedings

Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Friday, the 28th March, 2014 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Dr. Sikander Mandhro, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs:-

“This Assembly resolves to observe Earth Hour on last Saturday of March every year and reiterates its commitment to celebrate World Environment Days, World Wetlands Day, World Forest Day, World Water Day, Earth Day, World Migratory Bird Day, International Day for Biological Diversity, World Turtle Day, World Ocean Day, UN Day to combat Desertification and Drought, World Nature Conservation Day, International Vulture Awareness Day, World Maritime Day, World Habitat Day, International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction, International Day for Rural Women, International Day for Climate Action, World Fisheries Day, World Energy Conservation Day to which Pakistan is signatory.”


Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Friday, the 28th March, 2014 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Khurram Sher Zaman, MPA:-

“This Assembly resolves that First Aid be provided to every injured or causality case that comes to the Government and Private Hospitals in the Province. The Legal Medical Formalities to be followed after and during treatment.”



Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Friday, the 28th March, 2014 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Sumeta Afzal Syed, MPA, Ms. Heer Soho, MPA, Ms. Naila Munir, MPA, Ms. Irum Azeem Farooque, MPA and Mr. Ashfaque Ahmed Mangi, MPA:-

“This House condemns the kidnapping and brutal murder of a Lady Health Worker in Peshawar. This House recommends Sindh Government to approach the Federal Government to approach KPK Government to take notice of terrorist act, arrest the killers, prosecute them and provide protection to the Lady Health Workers.”

 Sukkur is purely a cotton growing district, where like other cotton growing districts of Left Bank of Indus River, cultivation of paddy crop has been banned officially by the local district administration. Accordingly no targets have been assigned in the left bank districts of River Indus. However some growers are sowing paddy at their own will.

 *468. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that mangoes exhibition is held at Mirpurkhas;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the varieties of mangoes there along with the purpose of the same?

 ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

(a)   Yes, Mango exhibition held at Mirpurkhas every year since 1965. This year it was 48th event.

(b)   There are 140 varieties available at Sindh Horticulture Research Institute Mirpurkhas. However, 15 varieties are commercial. These are Zafran, Almas, Siroli, Dusehri, Sindhri, Ghulab Khas, Chausa, Neelam, Anwer Ratol, Salih Bhai, Began Pali, Calector and Anmol.

(a)   Annual production of dates along with the varieties of the same;

(b)   Is it a fact that the dates are exported to other countries;

(c)    If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the details thereof?

(c)      The dates are grown in Khairpur district of Sindh on large scale, some varieties like Asseel, Hussaini, Kabalian, Kupro are very famous and production of these varieties are very popular and exported to Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Singapore and China.

(a)   The National Program for Improvement of 29000 watercourses in Sindh has been completed on 30-06-2012.

 *867. DR. MUHAMMAD RAFIQUE BANBHAN: Will the Minister for Agriculture be pleased to state:-

District-wise number of registered and unregistered pesticides companies exist in the province?

ANSWER

MR. ALI NAWAZ KHAN MAHAR, Minister for Agriculture:

Total 105 Pesticides companies are registered with Agriculture Department, however out of 105 companies, 43 have applied for renewal of registration. The district-wise details are as under:-
