(a)   Is it fact that roads will be constructed in the province under Public Private Partnership;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in affirmative, the details thereof alongwith details of roads under construction, if any date of completion of said roads during 2009 to 2013?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BAJARANI, Minister for Works & Services:

(a)   Yes.

(b)   (i). Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Dual Carriageway Project.

 The project was launched on 01-05-2010 and was substantially completed on 31-08-2012 and the toll tax being collected since 15-09-2012.

 (ii). Jhrik-Mullah Katiar Bridge Project.

The project is under construction since 13-05-2013 and its stipulated date of completion is 30th April, 2015.

 (iii). Karachi-Thatta Dual Carriageway.

The project will be launched very soon as Investor Solicitation is in progess.

(a)   Is it a fact that three bridges over Seeta road in Dadu damaged resulting people are facing hardship as well as time by when damaged bridges will be repaired;

(b)   If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, the reasons thereof?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BAJARANI, Minister for Works & Services:

There is only one bridge (5.4 meter wide) over Johi Branch at k.m 11+400, constructed by Irrigation Department, Government of Sindh and second is small existing bridge having       2 span (4.5 m each span) over Sim Nala at k.m 07+460, which were not damaged by flood and hence causing no hardship to people.

 *651. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Works & Services be pleased to state:-

Work carried-out in road sector with the coordination of ADB in the province during      2011-2013 upto June?

 ANSWER

MIR HAZAR KHAN BAJARANI, Minister for Works & Services:

Government of Pakistan had signed loan agreement No. 2472-PAK with Asian Development Bank on 14th April, 2011 for Flood Emergency Reconstruction Project (FERP) under road sector.

Under this loan agreement 800 Km of roads were to be reconstructed/ rehabilitated in seven districts of the province of Sindh which were damaged in super floods of 2010. These were   (1)  Kashmore @ Kandhkot  (2)  Jacobabad  (3)  Shikarpur  (4)  Kamber @ Shahdkot  (5) Dadu  (6)  Jamshoro and  (7)  Thatta.

The total cost of the project is Rs. 12569 million with cost sharing ratio of 90% from Asian Development Bank and 10 % from Government of Sindh. The loan closing date is             30th September, 2014.

The details of the roads reconstructed/being reconstructed under the said project is at Annexure, placed on the table of the House.

 Reconstruction

Further with the assistance of Asian Development Bank $131.0 million for Rehabilitation/ Reconstruction of 800 Kms major damages roads was approved under Loan No. 2742-Pak. The total cost of the project is Rs. 12569 million with cost sharing ratio of 90% from Asian Development Bank and 10% Government of Sindh. The loan closing date is 30th September, 2014.
