 *5091. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Transport & Mass Transit be pleased to state:-

(a)      Whether there is any bus service under consideration from Malir to Tower;

(b)      If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

 ANSWER

SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, Minister for Transport & Mass Transit:

A joint venture pilot project with M/s Daewoo named “Peoples Bus Service” is operational with 10 buses from Dawood Chowrangi to Tower. The number of buses will increase in coming month.

 *6386. DR. SEEMA ZIA: Will the Minister for Transport & Mass Transit be pleased to state:-

Amount collected through route permit in the last 05 years alongwith details of its utilization?

 ANSWER

SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, Minister for Transport & Mass Transit:

The Transport Authorities of the province collected Rs.27,83,88,815/- amount on account of grant / renewal of route permits and the same was deposited in Government of Sindh A/C No. (NON-FOOD) A/c No.B-02812 (Other Receipt on A/c Vehicle Route Permit Fee). The non-food amount cannot be utilized by the authority.

          Present status of legislation work on Mass Transit Authority?

Present status of work of bus terminal in district Hyderabad along with expenditure incurred therein?

 ANSWER

SYED NASIR HUSSAIN SHAH, Minister for Transport & Mass Transit:

Presently, there is no under construction bus terminal in Hyderabad. However, modern terminals at Karachi, Thatta, Badin and Miro Khan are under construction.
