KAMRAN AKHTER, MPA: Will the Honourable Minister for Local Government, Sindh may please to give answer/statement that water is provided just for one hour and that also after two to three months in Baldia Town and other areas. What steps have been taken by Government to supply water in this summer season?

*1943. MS. NUSRAT SEHER ABBASI: Will the Minister for Fisheries be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that there is occupation of influential landlords of the sea-belt of district Thatta;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the action taken by the government in this regard?

 ANSWER

MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Fisheries:

    (a)      No.

    (b)      Matter regarding occupation of the sea-belt of district Thatta pertains to Sindh Board of Revenue (BoR), being custodian of land.

 *3835. MS. HEER SOHO: Will the Minister for Fisheries be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that private fish farming is increasing rapidly in the province;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, whether there is any role of the department in their registration?

 ANSWER

MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Fisheries:

    (a)      Yes.

    (b)      There is no role of the Department in the registration of Private Fish Farms as there is no such provision in Sindh Fisheries Ordinance 1980/Sindh Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 2011 and Sindh Fisheries Rules 1983.

 *3858. MS. SUMETA AFZAL SYED: Will the Minister for Environment be pleased to state:-

(a)   Is it a fact that ship breaking industry in Gadani has been a prominent source of metal pollution;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, steps being taken in this regard? 

 ANSWER

MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Environment:

          Gadani is not under Sindh’s jurisdiction.

 *6463. MR. KAMRAN AKHTAR: Will the Minister for Fisheries be pleased to state:-

Grade-wise number of persons appointed in fisheries department during 2016-17 alongwith procedure followed for the same?

          ANSWER

MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI, Minister for Fisheries:

No any employee has been appointed during 2016-17 in the Fisheries Wing of Livestock & Fisheries Department, except the persons appointed under Deceased Quota. All appointments against deceased quota have been made with the approval of competent authority.
