“On the eve of International Women’s Day, this House pays tribute to Ms. Theresa Malkiel, Aira Salazar, Luise Zietz, Clara Zetkin, who floated the idea as a strategy to promote equal rights, right to vote, to hold public office and to an end to gender discrimination. In addition to this, how can we forget the role played by Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan, Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Sahiba and Asma Jahangir for the people of Pakistan in general and Women in particular.
Now, it is our responsibility to get united and “PRESS FOR PROGRESS” which is the global slogan of the year 2018”.”.

Number of companies participated in biding and bids offered for Master plan of Zulfiqarabad project including name of successful bidder and details thereof?

In response to our advertisement for “Expression of Interest (EoI) for pre-qualification of the Consultants for ZDA” published in daily newspapers on April 01,2012, eight (08) Consulting Firms had participated in the bidding process out of which six (06) Firms were selected as per SPPRA Rules 2010.
Ultimately after due process, M/s Umer Munshi Associates (UMA) qualified for award of contract.
The details/TORs of the Contract Agreement were as under:-
i. Design review and supervision of expressway and bridge over river Indus at Dhardhari (Category-1).
ii. Other consultancy assignments under General Consultancy for ZDA projects including Master Planning of ZDA (Category-2).
Later on the matter became sub-judice in the Hon. High Court of Sindh Karachi and the Status-quo order was issued on 18-09-2013.
The Status-quo order has been removed by the Hon. High Court of Sindh Karachi on 18-05-2016, however, the case is still under sub-judice.

(a) Whether there is any criteria for fixing the quota of flour mills in the province;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details thereof?

(a) The criteria for fixing of wheat quota has been adopted in the province is body formula. The details of body formula is given below:

No flour mill is released wheat for more than six roller bodies but not more than its rated monthly capacity.
The electricity consumption units in the past month also taken into account for releasing wheat quota.
However, due to abundant availability of wheat stock the flour mills are being released wheat according to “Liberal Policy” under which all the functioning flour mills can get wheat from Food Department as per their requirement.
(b) Does not arise.
